In A Fog

It’s foggy out there, isn’t it? I mean with opinions and ideas and so many questions without answers?
It’s like murky water, a little frightening, a little unnerving and we wonder what’s lurking in the unseen and the unknown.

So when we can’t see past the fog and the smog in this crazy life, what do we do? Fog’s no fun and It’s not a bad idea to sit and wait for it to lift before choosing our options, but it might take a while. The foggy places are those places where steps of faith are necessary for our survival. They might be small at first; little baby steps until we get our grounding, but the pierced hand of our Saviour reaches through the fog, ready to catch, carry and guide us through the density of perilous times.

When the fog is heavy and the confusion chaotic and overwhelming, rest quietly, take His hand and let Him lead. You might need to sit quietly for a time in order to hear His word to you, but listen to the still small voice in your ‘soul’ ~ that deep inner voice, not your heart, and not your head as those voices could lead off track! Today, for this time and this season, listen with soul ears! That conscience deep within that God uses to direct us into the proper path! To lead us in the right way into divine wisdom. To keep us from evil, from temptation! From going the wrong direction! From there faith will become stronger as we press in closer to God in the journey. So yeah, beautiful one, Don’t move out into the fog until you hear with Soul ears!

“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”
Isaiah 30: 21

“He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.”
Psalm 25:9

“I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.”
Isaiah 42:16

Fall Cleaning

So it’s Fall, and let it begin. There’s a whole lot of summer behind us and a lot of stuff left back there; some of it wonderful memories left in the dust of a fast – paced and busy, hectic life style and yeah, some of it not so great and that’s for sure.

For now a new season lies ahead! A time of harvest and yielding fruits. A new time of rejuvenation and preparation before the long winter sets in. Ah, yes, beautiful soul! How is it? Beautiful, just the way you like it? Or a little on the down slump? How’s your heart? How’s your mind? Weary, tired, restless, and longing for something deeper, something more meaningful, other that the same old, same old, that’s sure to creep in and join up with you in this new season in life?

Sometimes it’s difficult to step away from what’s behind and leave it where it should be left. Those worries, anxieties, those hard places that knocked and those insensitive people who pulled you in and dragged you down into their misery! After all, some things just need to be carried forward and dealt with don’t they? Or do they? Maybe some things surely can be left behind! If they can, then indeed, leave them and walk away.

Things still need attention? Then this new bold season, vibrant with color, is the perfect time to take care of them, so face them head on! All those instances of unconfessed sin, painful hurts, crushing disappointments or maybe just a plain old discontented spirit, needs a new start. Forgive, be forgiven, forget and move on into the bold, vibrant colors and beginnings of a new life, and a new season. The beauty of fall awaits to be seen with new insight, through the clear eyes of the soul, a clean heart and a forgiving spirit. So time out today for a Fall cleaning! Take out the garbage and leave it at the roadside for pick-up! Walk on free in Christ and prepare for harvest in your life and in your ministry. Prepare for harvest, within your home, your family and your relationships and circles of influence.

The Psalmist says and reminds us in the very first chapter of the book of Psalms how blessed we are as followers of Christ, when he says in verse 1, “Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on His law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by the streams of water which yields fruit in its season and whose leaf does not wither….” Yeah, we must prepare our hearts for harvest and maybe do a deep cleaning but it’s well worth it to be like the well-watered tree planted by the stream ‘cuz our leaves won’t wither in the seasons of life. Yeah, beautiful you ~ We are blessed and beautiful souls if we delight in the laws of God and meditate on Him day and night and through all seasons of life.

Everything That Comes And Goes

“I know that, whatsoever God does, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God does it, that men should fear before him. That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requires that which is past.”

Ecclesiastes 3: 14, 15

The book of Ecclesiastes is a book of wisdom delving into the depths of life and it’s somewhat meaningless meanderings but yet of it’s utmost importance. It seems so fleeting but yet not without purpose. The key to finding purpose and enjoyment is in remembering our Creator and keeping His commandments. Living them out in obedience to Him. This is what really brings about our joy and fulfilled life.

So today, make the most of what comes and goes as life passes by so quickly and days seem blown to the wind. So many things we once loved, and had and owned and enjoyed are long lost now, not because we didn’t want them, but because things change! We change! Seasons change! They come and they go and some of our treasures are no longer available for any number of reasons. Maybe lost, maybe grown, maybe torn maybe broken, maybe off the market, maybe just worn out and long time gone. Loved ones pass on and dear hearts remain as only precious memories.

So, the thing is, it’s okay to grab those sweet and priceless moments in time and remember back when! It’s ok to tuck the memories into your heart for safe-keeping to take with on the rest of this life journey, but to live there..No we can’t! Not in the past! The past is the past and although some things are worth the memory, other things aren’t! The bad, the good, and everything in between is kept by God, in the vault of heaven for safe keeping and you and I and we and us, we must move on, for we still have life coursing through our veins to make a difference in what is yet to come. We have life to be free to make choices and more memories for others to hide in their sweet minds for their sweet journey. So yeah, today, do what you can with what you have, knowing that too soon, it will be gone. Treasure tiny fingers, tiny toes, all that comes all that goes. Treasure little hearts and minds and those valuable, little souls in your care. Treasure aging hearts and souls confined to beds of sickness. Some to recover, yet some to move on! Learn from the past but live the life you still have to make a difference for others and for the future that lies ahead.

Make the most of everything that comes and everything that goes. But dear and beautiful soul, make it good, make it well, and make it sweet and make it kind ~ just as good and well and sweet and kind as can be and as you can, for the Creator has a purpose in your life. A purpose to make life more meaningful for others in your path.

So beautiful friend ~ Celebrate life! Find that purpose and know that joy today.

CELEBRATE LIFE

Savor The Savior

So ’tis the season to be jolly? Is it really? Is it really a season to be jolly and joyful or do we find ourselves in a scurry of just clear crazy? With so much on the ‘Good-Will’ ‘to do’ platter, we might just find there’s too much conundrum on our own plate. How then do we quiet ourselves amidst this complete craziness of so much of everything to accomplish.

Chances are it’s not just the hubbub of Christmas festivities but other things too; other issues that creep in from the far corners of your world! They sneak in like creepy shadows, without invite, yet loudly proclaim their presence as they parade dauntingly through the mind. Intimidating they are, every step of this way and that and every way in between, they rant on and on and on. Things that go bump in the night and make sleep a thing of the past! Well, it’s just an anxiety here a tension there, a bit of strife and disagreement and our old enemy is boldly on deck, ready to snag us with a host of nonsense and issues to distract from ever seeing the ‘Merry’ in Christmas! So ok, ’tis the season to be jolly but sometimes the “Merry” is so far removed from our life that we even fail to find the “Christ” of Christmas.

Remember Him? He’s the Saviour of your day! Your life, your week, and your busy season of life. So, ok, beautiful one, as His child, whatever season you’re in, you can know He’s walking it with you! Right along beside! So whatever you do right now, collect your messy thoughts and usher your busy, crazy world right into His sweet and powerful presence for some healing and some quiet. So now, there you are with your whole heart, smack dab in the presence of your amazing God, Maker, Creator, Savior and Lord. What now? Well, just savour the moments with the Saviour and find His grace enough to dissipate those fears hidden in the shadows! Yeah, You’ll find enough peace there for the hectic, enough mercy there for the miles you’ve trod, enough healing to rejuvenate the weary! You’ll find enough grace there too, for the moment, enough Light there for road and enough hope there to keep you on keeping on!

Oh yeah, and that ‘good will “To Do” platter? Well, relax with it, it will be full and running over, just like your heart of joy and gratitude to the One who cares so deeply for your beautiful soul.

So, beautiful you, when the busy gets up and runs off, running crazy in the days ahead, take a ‘time out’ to get alone with the One who knows you upside and downside and confirm with the Psalmist as he pens in Psalm 97: 10 b, “He protects the lives of His godly people and rescues them from the power of the wicked. Light shines on the godly, and joy on those whose hearts are right.”

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:: 28 – 30
