So it’s here; the night before Advent! A time of anticipation and a time of reflection as we turn our focus from the hectic to the hushed, from the busy to the quiet, and from the excitement of Christmas preparation, to the anticipation of one Royal birth; the awesome birth of our Saviour. The One who left His divine credentials behind to enter the world as God yet man, arrived in baby form, shape and size! He entered into crude surroundings to bring Light and Truth and establish Hope for our weary, worn hearts from generation to generation. Oh aren’t we glad He did?
Yeah, there are still very busy days ahead to prepare for this Birthday of all Birthday events, but on this sweet night, the night before Advent, when the lights twinkle with glimmer and sparkle with festivities, our hearts can be stilled and our minds quieted before this most astounding event that went down in history. We can be amazed at the most Holy Light of the World that was born into this most unholy world of darkness to make a difference in the hearts of His people.
He’s the brightest light for everyone everywhere to see and to know! Oh yes, beautiful soul, hush for the hectic and quiet from the busy ‘cuz on this night before Advent, we get to unwrap the most precious Light of all; the Light of God’s most amazing love and we get to share it with the world of darkness in so much need.
Unwrap God’s love tonight.
I send Many Blessings to You ♥

So, what’s all the noise and fuss about lighting this candle of hope at Advent season? What’s hope anyway in this bad, sad world of ours? What’s up with hope anyways in the wars, the riots, the killings, the shootings, the earthquakes, and all the ‘not so great things’ that happen daily in our own lives and in our own worlds? Hope? Is it some pie in the sky crutch to help Christ ones over the rough patches or some kind of brainwashing that has believers totally running off the reality track? What is it? Where is it and how on the wide side of the earth do we find hope within a world such as this? A world in such utter disarray and chaos? Is this thing Hope, really for real or just some word tossed about to get us by and give us some kind of false idea that all will be better by and by?
Yeah, it is for real! It resides in the hearts and minds of Christ’s disciples ~ in the hearts and minds of His followers. Hope resides there because His followers have tasted of the healing and forgiveness and faithfulness of the Lord and witnessed His hand of goodness even through the storms, the losses, the trials and the fires. Prophecies foretold of this wondrous hope splashed all through the pages of scripture, of this One who would step down from heaven and enter as the only solution, into a world crushed by sin and torn apart by it’s ruthless destruction. He would enter as a babe, so tender, so helpless, so human yet so divine! He would enter humbly and be laid in a manger as the Light of world! As the Saviour of the world! Yes, let’s light a candle to symbolize this Hope for the world! Prophecy foretold the Good news of His coming to take away the ugly sin-stain of mankind and heal their land, their hearts and their souls. Isaiah’s words to Hezekiah in Isaiah 40: 1-5 were words of comfort for the people of Israel at a very difficult time. It was a message of encouragement with the good news of forgiveness, reconciliation, and restoration. A message still so real and relevant for us today as we sit in a broken world with broken lives ravaged by sin! And ah, yes, beautiful soul, He did come! He came as a babe to live, and walk among us and die and yet rise to defeat death so that our own hearts can be healed and forgiven and made new because the Light of the World came into the world! He came to seek and to save that which is lost. That’s you and I and because of this great event in history, we don’t have to continue to live in the darkness and the ruins of sin that so easily entangle us and make the world the bad, sad world that it is.
Oh yes, the hope is real and for ‘very’ real for sure!! There is Hope laced throughout the brokenness and the darkness of this dismal world, in the form of a Saviour, the Light of the world.
Isaiah 40: 1 – 5
Comfort, comfort my people, says your God. Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her hard service has been completed, that her sin has been paid for, that she has received from the LORD’s hand double for all her sins. A voice of one calling: “In the wilderness prepare the way for the LORD ; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain. And the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all people will see it together. For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.”
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.
Relax! Enjoy this Christmas season as we celebrate the birthday of our Lord and Savior ~ The Messiah, Our King! Find the Hope, love and warmth that’s tucked inside God’s beautiful gift, given to a needy world, and let it make a difference in your life.
Feeling alone? So were the lowly shepherds, out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night after night after night. It was they who were chosen to receive the birth announcement with exquisite, “Out Of This World” props!! A star of wonder, lit the sky and 3D angels with muti-media and surround sound filled the heavens to proclaim this royal event. The lonely, lowly shepherds followed the star, sought him out, found Him in the stable and knelt to worship Him. I wonder if you’ve found Him? Wise men went searching for Him and wise men still do! Wise men found Him and wise men still do.
“When the angels had gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds began saying to one another, “Let us go straight to Bethlehem then, and see this thing that has happened which the Lord has made known to us.” So they came in a hurry and found their way to Mary and Joseph, and the baby as He lay in the manger. When they had seen this, they made known the statement which had been told them about this Child”.…

The world is dark right now as heavy fear and apprehension hangs thick like a dense fog that won’t go away. We can’t believe the stuff that’s happening around us and we’re quick to talk of the evil and how rampant it’s becoming in our world.
Let’s remember the world is and has always been in a sinful state! Evil has always been rampant. Christ was born into a dark world where a ruthless King Herod ordered all baby boys to their death in order to get rid of the new “baby” boy child and the King; the Christ Child who posed a threat to an evil King controlled by jealousy.
Yeah, you and I, we’re sinful creatures by nature. Born into sin..Those that do not have a saving knowledge of the Lord as their Savior are controlled by their sinful natures and darkness rules their lives. When darkness rules lives, others are affected and innocent ones suffer the consequences. Let’s remember, We are not an island..What “we” do affects others..It’s not just the shooter or the one that plays out the bombing that’s at fault in this tumultuous world of ours, but it’s ‘us’ as well….in the choices we make and the things we do.
Enter the majestic Star of Bethlehem, the Christ child who was born as the Light Of the World and born to bring the light of hope and glory into this dark world lost in sin. He’s the Savior and the only one that can make a difference in your heart or mine…Even in the darkness, His love shines the light of Hope into our dark worlds and into our dark days and although the sadness doesn’t leave and the mourning doesn’t stop…the joy comes in the morning and it comes to our hearts and it comes to our homes when we know Him and His saving grace in a personal way!! He sees us through the difficult times as sketchy as they are.
Although God doesn’t order or cause the hideous world events, the enemy of sin always carries it’s natural consequences! They can be harsh and brutal, because sin destroys!! These horrendous crimes should be our wake up call and get our attention long enough to shake us from our slumber of passive complacency…and our “Who cares? I’ll live like I want attitude”…
Beautiful soul, Instead of asking, “Why does God allow such terrible happenings?” Let’s rather ask ourselves, “What will it take to give us a desire for personal change and wake ‘us’ up and move us out into a needy world as mighty warriors for the King of Kings leaving behind our selfish ways?
It’s just something to think about at this reflective, Advent season.
And so we ask it one more time, “What will it take?” ~k
Matthew 5: 14, 16
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
