A Little Peace Please

Ahh, so we move into this second week of our Advent season, continue on in our preparation with Hope in our soul as we light the candle of ‘peace’ in our anticipated waiting. With so much going on in this world of ours, it’s hard to fathom any kind of peace anywhere, isn’t it? For sure not in this wide world is there any kind of peace and certainly not in ours!

Today, there’s most likely a whole bunch of us just aching for some kind of peace of mind that everything is ok and will be ok. Luke 2:14 tells us of a host of heavenly angels singing their song to shepherds, to announce His birth and share a glorious message of calm assurance! It was a powerful yet tender message of a Savior’s birth and about His sweet peace resting on His people in this unsettled earth of ours.

Glory to God in the Highest, because on that holy night a Savior came to gift us not only with Hope but with a divine PEACE and bring it close to our hearts, our minds, and into the very depths of our needy souls and selves. Peace, yeah, It’s really there all around us all wrapped up in our Trust in the One Savior of the world. We need to step into it and just believe! It’s in our complete trust that our peace takes root. Pure, simple TRUST in Him shuts out the fear of the unknown! It cancels out the worry of what’s next and quiets the noise of chaos, because, as His child, we can know He holds us and our stuff, close to Himself as He whispers sweet peace to our soul. ❀

His Brilliant Plan

Yeah, sometimes we just don’t get what God is up to. Life seems complicated and chaotic and all outta sorts, but even still, amidst all of its conundrum, God has a sweet plan, a noble plan, a brilliant plan. Turns out, all we have to do is trust Him and follow His leadΒ πŸ’•

Psalm 28:7
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song, I give thanks to him.”

In A Slump

Β

So, when you’re in a slump and feel that you haven’t enough of anything that it takes to get through the day, you go in God’s strength. His strength alone will get you there; out of the slump, out of the rut, out of the fear, out of the panic, out of the worry and out of the confusion of it all. Oh yeah, His strength alone is your plugged in power source for the next moment, the next hour, the next day, the next month and yes all the way through the next year as it unravels and unfolds. So ~ when you’re tied up in knots about impossibilities and things you can’t change, and bad news hits the home front or the news headlines. and when your motivation hits an all-time low, or when the bottom has dropped out of your day, and your world has just done a topsy – turvy off the map, you know He’s caught it, and you know He’s got it.

Yeah, this almighty One who suspends the world in the universe and allows it to spin ever so gently with just the perfect formula and perfect precision timing, knows how to pull your day back into line and your world back into order. Hey! When it’s all gone wrong, remember, God writes it off as a blessing and makes it all okay! Oh, you won’t see it right away but, beautiful soul, it will be ok! It will! It will all turn around and turn out for the best if you don’t leave God out of the equation. If you trust Him through it and say with the Psalmist in Psalm 69: 13 – 15, “But I pray to you, O Lord, in the time of Your favor; in Your great love, O God, answer me with Your sure salvation. Rescue me from the mire, do not let me sink;….do not let the floodwaters engulf me or the depths swallow me up or the pit close it’s mouth over me.”

Psalm 70: 1, “Hasten, O God to save me; O Lord come quickly to help me.”

He will come just as surely as you wait there. Truth is, He hasn’t left. He just waits for your call. That’s what moves Him to action. He loves His people and will not leave them nor forsake them.. You can know it!

Psalm 70: 5
“Yet, I am poor and needy; come quickly to help me, O God. You are my help and my deliverer.”

Deuteronomy 31:8
“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

We Can Still Trust Him

when we can't see past our doubtThere’s so much deception in our world today and truth is difficult to come by! So hard to decipher at times. Sometimes maybe it’s not really our lack of faith and trust in God that tugs at our heartstrings and leaves us feeling guilty but rather our lack of trust lies in those people that surround us; those, controlling our countries, our world, our world’s, and controlling those that don’t know Him or care to know Him. Somehow we have to trust a Sovereign God evenΒ for those who wander and walk away from the faith ~ yeah, to those He gives free choice and free will. Even through evil, He keeps them under His protection. Our prayers are our potent and powerful spiritual weapons of warfare in a world of deception and evil, when we can’t and don’t trust humanity to do the right thing or behave in the right way in this whacked out world! So, when we can’t see past our doubt, we can still trust our God to work out the details for those lost in ‘self’, arrogance and deception, and for a world caught up in deception ~ yeah ~ and some in violence! God has a plan for those! He has a purpose for those! He’s consistently working it out! His will and plan won’t be trumped by evil or thwarted by our feelings or fleeting moments of unbelief, so don’t succumb to the enemy’s lie that your moments of doubt make you “not good enough” to be a mighty warrior in this spiritual battle that’s so very real to the believer on a daily basis.

Hey heart, take heart and pray without ceasing even for those ~ Don’t give up ever, ever! Rejoice anyway! Even in the darkest moments of your soul….Rejoice! Don’t ever believe you’re not good enough to make a powerful difference! Don’t believe the lie that you can’t move the hand of God through your prayer. Prayer changes things ~ aren’t we thankful?

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
