The Challenge

Yeah, it’s a real challenge isn’t it?

That worry, fear syndrome that wraps its icy fingers around our thoughts to pull us under and render us useless in its power.

The mind is our biggest enemy and our front line of battle. If any fear, worry or negative thinking breaks through that front line to consume our thought life it has the power to weaken us.

I’m so thankful our God is far greater than any threat or enemy attack and trusting Him is the only way to counter the mind/worry/negativity battle that wars within.

Trust Him, no matter what’s going down and always pray continually! God knows what He’s doing in this world and in your life.

Guard Your Mind

Proverbs 14:22
“Do not those who plot evil go astray? But those who plan what is good find love and faithfulness.”

Proverbs 3:27 says, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” It’s pretty straightforward isn’t it? We will become what we allow our minds to dwell on. Have you had the experience? Where you found yourself so saturated in worry only to become paranoid? Have you been immersed in a fear so strong, that it paralyzes you? Have you been bound in strongholds so tightly that you feel claustrophobic, hopeless and helpless to free yourself? It’s our minds, and our thinking that gets us into these horrible places of ruin. The mind is the first line of defense, and the target for the enemy’s entry into a life and a temptation is his way in. It’s his foot in the door, and if we give him a foot in he can get our mind, he can get our heart and he can get our life so entwined in sin that life becomes hopeless.

Let’s hide 2 Corinthians 10:5 in our back pocket and engrave it on our hearts as a reminder to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
2 Corinthians 10:5 “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” Our actions and behavior will follow our thoughts, therefore we have to take action in our thought life. As believers and disciples of Christ, Let’s be challenged today to fix our mind on truth, holiness and the excellence of Christ as we hear Paul’s words to the persecuted Christians in the Church of Philippi, in Philippians 5: 8, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.

We cannot think defeat and expect victory. We will become as our thoughts direct us. Think on what is good and find joy and hope, love and faithfulness! Defeat the enemy; Think victory and behave victoriously.

So yesterday we rested and today we take a stand! We take a stand on those promises from God and gird them about out mind! We take a stand against the lies of the enemy and the evil one who tries to defeat us in our thoughts. He knows if he can get to our thoughts he can get to us! So those promises? Stand firmly on them and don’t move until you know that you know that you know God is on your side and has your back. He has you covered on all fronts and in all directions. He won’t abandon and He won’t leave ~ so yeah beautiful souls just rest in Him but stand confident in that what He says He will do, He will do, and as that refreshing, grace rain of His sweet promises fall upon your head today ~ take a confident stand with the God of your salvation and the sustainer of your life. His credentials are out this world.

I Peter 1:13
“Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;”

2 Peter 1:4
“And because of His glory and excellence, He has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.”

Take Charge Of Your Mind

1 Peter 1: 13
“Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming.”

King James Version:
Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

Prepare your mind! “Gird up the loins” of your mind, is borrowed speech analogy used in connection with the long garments of that day. Sojourners had to prepare for travel by gathering in their loose clothing in order to alleviate entanglement and difficulty in travel.

People of the Lord……our mind is the front line of battle and as Soldiers of Christ, and Christians in spiritual warfare, we ‘must’ take charge of it first and foremost. We must take every thought captive as Paul passionately states in 2 Corinthians 10:5, when he says, “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” We must gather our thoughts and our affections, and at the same time, be on the alert for spiritual dangers that lurk so that we don’t become subtly entangled in sin and distractions of worry, doubt, fear and selfish pleasures. This girding of our minds calls for temperance in behavior and humility in opinions and practices as we move forward in battle with a supernatural, godly strength, derived from the Hope of eternal life, that is ours in Christ.

He is victorious! That victory is ours!! God’s grace embraces us now and the vastness of it continually dispenses to His obedient children as they strive for holiness in all affairs, in every situation and towards all people. March on faithfully, chosen one of God, steadfast in your faith, unwavering in the knowledge of Christ’s salvation, prepared and ready to defeat the enemy under the banner of God’s righteous judgment, compassion, grace, love and mercy, and the victorious, shed blood of Christ that covers, forgives, redeems and saves us once and for all. Hallelujah!!
