The Challenge

Yeah, it’s a real challenge isn’t it?

That worry, fear syndrome that wraps its icy fingers around our thoughts to pull us under and render us useless in its power.

The mind is our biggest enemy and our front line of battle. If any fear, worry or negative thinking breaks through that front line to consume our thought life it has the power to weaken us.

I’m so thankful our God is far greater than any threat or enemy attack and trusting Him is the only way to counter the mind/worry/negativity battle that wars within.

Trust Him, no matter what’s going down and always pray continually! God knows what He’s doing in this world and in your life.

A Bad Game

So it’s not always easy, is it? Crazy stuff drops out of nowhere when we least expect it. Things that completely take our thoughts and knock us off track momentarily or maybe longer ~ just because they do and we feel weak and helpless, overwhelmed, disappointed ~ and smack-dab in the middle of it all. Where to turn and what to do when rough patches in the road trip us up so very quickly and make us lose our focus on what’s true and right and good?

Our get up and go gets up and leaves us shaking, unmotivated and exhausted. Worry becomes a nasty game changer as it volunteers to take its dangerous position in the playing field. Panic and fear just follow along and then what? We have a bad game going on and we find ourselves in need of a supernatural power source that can empower us and pick us up from the depths of where we are and pull us to the heavenly heights of where He is!

Today, we are needy people needing a double dose of God’s grace and favour and ah yes, His compassion and mercy~ all victorious in winning the battle. His mercies are new every morning and even on the rough days, Jesus gives mercy and hope for the road! Put a dash of both in your “coffee to go” this morning! His grace is amazing, His love unfailing and His guidance is true and right and good. He will never leave you ‘nor forsake you. Trust Him for that! Trust Him now, and where worry plays out give it over into His capable hands. Where panic surfaces in the chaotic and frightening, know God’s protective, scarred hands are all over it to make it better and to bring you closer to His heart!

Beautiful and weary soul, He’s got this! ~ let Him work!

John 16:33

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Zephaniah 3:17

“The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.

“Psalm 50:15

“Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.”

In A Stew

So you’ve worried yourself into a stew and now what can you do? You’re exhausted and turned upside down, inside out and wrong side in. Has it helped? Face it, beautiful soul, nothing was accomplished by your fretting because nothing ever is. Jesus Himself, told us so in His own words in Matthew 6:27, when He asked His listeners a pointed question ~ “Can anyone of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” So the words from our Savior and Lord ring in our ears and we still don’t get it because we just can’t turn that issue over and relinquish control. Somehow we so falsely believe that worry is power over our problem and so we keep the stew a bubblin’ and the energy levels drop dead at our feet as we drag our worries to every corner of the planet. Our enemy is out to bring us to defeat and wherever we go, we’ll find that crazy worry just beats us there to beat us up, to laugh in our faces and defy our trust in the God we say we believe in and the God who cares so deeply for us.

Oh, these moments are moments for your beautiful soul to take a stand against the enemy and inhale God’s grace and let the depth and the height of His sovereign power sink into your heart and mind. These are the moments to reach out to the Lord of our lives, our Salvation Giver, our Provider, and our sustainer through all things. These are the moments to just fall into a simple child-like trust and trust Him! Cast your burden on the God who has your back. Nothing will touch you that He hasn’t ordered and if He orders it and brings you to it, you can know, that you know, that you know, that He will bring you through it!

1 Peter 5: 6 7 “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.…

Don’t let him get to you through worry!

What Kind Of Love?

Hebrews 12: 2.

“Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Hebrews 12: 1, 2.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge cloud of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down. Especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race that God has set before us.” We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting Him, He endured the cross, disregarding it’s shame. Now He is seated in the place of honour beside God’s throne….

Jesus is our supreme example of faithful endurance and all the brutal, lonely way to the cross He proved it. Not that He had to prove it, but rather it gave Him joy to die for the sinner’s hope of forgiveness, salvation and eternal life.

What kind of love is that? What kind of love endures the hard, lonely, struggle and scorns the shame of it? Only one who has his eyes fixed on His heavenly Father and His will. Christ did it for us, let’s run our own personal race for Him. Let’s face our brutal, lonely challenges for His glory. Life gets tough and quickly weighs us down. If we focus on the problem, we’ll quickly lose heart, fall from the race and succumb to the struggle, but if we focus on the Lord, we’ll find renewed strength. He blesses the life of faith in the believer, so let faith arise! Throw off the doubt, fear, worry, failures, discouragement and strongholds so that you can run freely and smoothly, without entanglement, with your eyes focused clearly on Christ, who runs beside you or carries you but also sits today at the right hand of the throne of God, interceding for you and praying for your endurance to make it to the finish line. You can do it with Him! Focus, focus, focus!
