Lessons Through Failures

Isaiah 48:17

“This is what the LORD says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.”

One would expect God’s people to be in tune with their God and follow His leadership but they had a rebellious heart and from the very beginning did not really have an awareness of who their God really was. He had spoken, they had not listened! God’s covenant and redemptive plan would not be thwarted and so, even in their affliction, caused by their own waywardness, God sent a prophet to deliver a gracious message for their benefit, so that they could be delivered and succeed if they would just listen.

Still today, those whom God redeems He teaches, even through adversity and affliction. Even through our stubborn rebellion and our “know it all” attitudes.

The most amazing bonus is how He weaves His beautiful tapestry of golden threads in, over, around and through our mistakes bringing good into our failures, strength into our weaknesses and joy into our afflictions, if we hear His words, act on them and meet His chastening with humility.

He enlightens, He directs and He leads us by His grace, His mercy and His compassion. His love is vast, awesome and unconditional. He desires nothing but the best for his people. Do we really know how amazing and astounding our God is?

  1. Can we truly fully comprehend how amazing and astounding He is? Just when I think He has done His best I see/hear something that makes me realize that He is beyond all I can imagine.
