Your Spacious Place?

Psalm 118:5-6

“When hard pressed, I cried to the LORD; He brought me into a spacious place. The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”

And just where is this ‘spacious place’ that our Psalmist speaks of? It’s a clearing of some sort isn’t it? Perhaps it’s a quite place of pure, simple trust in His Lord; a place of safety in the shelter of His wings. Perhaps it’s a peaceful place of rest and security from the struggles that try to tear us apart and the troubles that surround on every side.

The Psalmist was distressed, perplexed and fearful in his troubles and he prayed to the Lord for help and deliverance from the enemy that stalked and threatened. Once he knew that he knew that he knew God’s presence was with him he knew that he had found a place of ease. A place of comfort! A place of rest! God’s hand of guidance was there and yes, a Sovereign God was there and in control of the situation. It was a sweet place of comfort!

Are you there today or are you feeling hard pressed on every side, fearful of what may happen next? Are you afraid of those who are out to get you by spreading rumors or undermining your position? Has something unforseen happened, catching you off guard and placing you in a very vulnerable, unsettling position? There is a place of peace and quiet from the struggle. A tranquil place, set apart from your worries and your cares. Only you and God know your spacious place; that place of freedom and sweet relief in spite of circumstances. Do you need to trust Him today for something in order to find rest for your weary soul? Let go of the circumstances, whatever they might be and Trust Him then! Our brilliant, all knowing creator is fully capable of managing all of your affairs and concerns, so relax and find peace and rest in His presence. Perhaps your spacious place would be a beautiful clearing as one of hope and deliverance, bringing freedom from the despair of guilt of the present or the past. A place of freedom and deliverance from the bondage and entanglement of sin, addictions, selfishness or pride. Christ went to the cross to bring you that Hope and to offer grace for forgiveness through salvation! Perhaps now is your day to come before the Lord, with the Psalmist to catch a glimpse of God’s compassion. To see His forgiveness, grace, salvation and the abundant life He extends to you just because He loves you. Let Him lift you, carry you and bring you into your spacious place. That place of mercy, grace, unconditional love and forgiveness where you can rest in His security, be freed from your past, rejoice in His Hope and triumph in His victory! Who wouldn’t want to find this delightful place of rest? Who wouldn’t want to be there?

Everything For A Reason

Romans 8: 28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Is there anything more encouraging or more hope filled that the realization that all things are held together in God’s sovereignty? All things are allowed by Him for our purpose?  Those disappointments are His appointments and those failures and pain, when turned over to Him, in repentance, are sifted, recycled and woven into golden threads for His glory, our benefit and the encouragement of others.  What a brilliant creator and an awesome, divinely skilled, master craftsman we have in our God!!  He creates, He sustains, He maintains!  He saves, He keeps and He satisfies. He sits on the throne of glory conducting our lives, guiding, directing and protecting.  He never sleeps neither does He slumber!  He is our Rock of Salvation, our Fortress, our Great Physician, our Tower Of Refuge, our Bread Of Life and our  Living Water.  He’s is Grace, Mercy  and our Hope of Glory! Without Him we are nothing. He works behind the scenes of our lives to blend, mold, refine, filter and fashion all the details together for our fullness of life.  That’s what He does! I love how He does it!!  Regardless of your situation or your circumstances, He is at work for you!  Thank Him today from a grateful heart for working it out.

Be Blessed today

Approval?

2 Cor. 10 : 17: 18

“But, “Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.” For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord
commends.”

We live in a time where self propagation is the order of day! We want to excel, be the best, get the biggest promotion or secure the most financially secure position! We get caught on the comparison wheel of “My kids are and my kids can and my kids won! Not only does our discontent send us in relentless pursuit of ‘more’ at all cost, but we can’t keep our mouths shut about the good things we’ve accomplished. Oh don’t we like to brag and build ourselves up? After all, if we don’t, no one else will, or so we think. What a turn off our boasting invites. We forget in God’s economy it’s our spirit of humility that receives God’s stamp of approval and true honor in His sight and as well, in our circles of influence. Our God desires for us to enjoy abundant life to the fullest; to be content as we recognize that every good thing is from His hand of blessing. Every skill, and every talent has been handed over to us by a Sovereign Lord for us to use for His glory!

Our Righteous Judge

Isaiah 33:22

“For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; it is he who will save us.”

The Lord’s rule is a part of His divine order and as Creator of all things His rule is just and righteous. He is the Ancient of Days and has served as law giver and judge from the beginning of time. He will continue to maintain His sovereign position until the end of time.

The God who oversees our actions, behaviors and motives in the beginning, sees them at the end. It’s frustrating and possibly frightening when medical reports get lost in the shuffle of transient doctors and a personal, medical history disappears into the archives only to leave a new doctor without the whole story of our health. God isn’t transient. He doesn’t move, or change. He doesn’t lose our information and our history doesn’t get lost in the shuffle. He knows us well! He knows the end from the beginning and will judge us accordingly! Our King, our Messiah our Ancient of Days will reign and will usher in a just world. He is our saving grace, our protection and our salvation. His Spirit will change a heart and one day will transform the world into a place of righteousness, justice and peace.

I think this is so important to grasp a hold of in light of our forgiveness, and /or our desire to retaliate and get even with sweet revenge. We so often think that we sit alone in our hurts and unfair dealings. As God knows our hearts, motives, and actions, we can be assured that He also knows the heart motives and actions of those who have offended, betrayed, spread rumors or lied about us. He doesn’t loose track of who does what, and why they do it? God is just and righteous. He will grant mercy and justice when and where it’s needed, as well as judge the unforgiving spirit of ourselves or another. This knowledge of the just God should take a burden off our shoulders. Our offender/s will not get off free under our Sovereign God’s rule. Then again, nor will we if we are to blame but live in denial.
