Time Out

Little Thoughts For Big Days
Little Thoughts For Big Days

So when the voice of confusion does its rant against your mind and steals your peace, and leaves you feeling on the brink of nothing but chaos and failure, you need to call a “time out” while you wait on the Lord for His divine direction. His voice won’t compete with the noise of your chaotic surroundings or the noise levels of your panic, fear or worry. He wants your trust! Your complete and honest trust for your problem. Yeah, He works in that calmness of total surrender when noisy confusion dissipates and melts into tranquil moments with Him and His sovereignty. He’s all-knowing and all-powerful. All authority is His and lies in His capable hands. He saves, He keeps, He sustains. He heals, He cleanses and He forgives. Who more could mentor you through the tough decisions and choices that lie ahead? He’s promised to guide and lead the way for His children. Psalm 32:8-9 “I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you. Do not be as the horse or as the mule which have no understanding, Whose trappings include bit and bridle to hold them in check, Otherwise they will not come near to you.” So ~ beautiful soul, don’t hide behind confusion and stubborn will. Do not let one more thing weight you down! Not one thing! Go to your maker! Get with Him for counsel and help in your time of need. You’ll find unconditional love there! You’ll find Him a God of mercy, grace and compassion. He waits to hear from you. He waits to quiet the noise of your confusion, and heal your wounds and mend your brokenness. He waits to open new doors of opportunity and the grace to rise to the challenge. Trust Him!

Complete Trust
Complete Trust

“Make me know Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation, and my hope is in You all day long.”
Psalm 25:4-5

“You, in Your great compassion, Did not forsake them in the wilderness; The pillar of cloud did not leave them by day, To guide them on their way, Nor the pillar of fire by night, to light for them the way in which they were to go.”
Nehemiah 9:19

After The Wings

Little Thoughts For Big Days

I’ve been raising Monarchs this season and finding it a delightful past time. This is the first one to emerge from it’s snug chrysalis where it made it’s amazing transformation from Caterpillar to wings. It’s been a beautiful journey so far with these amazing creations that God has given to grace our world.

Free At Last
Free At Last

So a few hours later our first hatchling from the chrysalis was taken outside to dry in the soft breeze. The breeze caught his wings and he took off in a first, unsteady flight and flew right into a spider web. How disappointing and distressing to watch it go down but at the same time, it was a wonderful feeling to come to his rescue. So, carefully loosening him free from the web and brushing off the sticky silk from his feet and face, we ventured over to the butterfly bush where he hid under a few leaves and spent many more hours on sweet, nectar flowers! Later in the day, it was a delight to see him in brilliant, beautiful flight and freedom. No more crawling on the milkweed, but now soaring in the wind with beautiful grace!

What a spectacular journey and transformation from caterpillar to butterfly and yet his unsteady wings of freedom, weren’t even enough. They quickly ushered him into trouble and landed him smack dab in the middle of a dreadful and invisible web of deception. He wasn’t strong enough yet to fight it on his own and without human rescue, he wouldn’t have made it. He would have had to succumb to the entrapment of the deadly web and all just after gaining a new freedom. It makes me wonder how anything survives on it’s own in the wild! It’s also a good reminder of how we need a Saviour to rescue us from the dreadful web of sin. Our unsteady wings of freedom lead us quickly into invisible webs of trouble to quickly entangle us and without a Sovereign God, who is rich in mercy and grace coming to our aid to free us with His awesome and amazing plan of salvation, we too, are entrapped before we ever begin our life journey! We sit wrapped in the sticky pleasures of our selfish desires without any hope of escape! Praise God, He made a way for us to be set free through Christ who came to our rescue! Through the cross, the shed blood and His divine, glorious resurrection and transformation, we too, can be set free in beautiful flight when we seek Him and ask his forgiveness.

Isaiah 53:6
We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

The Champion Still

So as we move towards Palm Sunday our emphasis and focus is on the triumphal entry of our Lord riding into Jerusalem on the lowliness of a borrowed donkey! The event fulfilled an ancient prophecy prophesied back in Zechariah 9:9:

“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is He, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.”

He was their King, but not a military King, arrayed in royal robes of silk and satin, purple or gold, rather He wore the common clothes of humility. His birth place ~ a stable and His bed ~ a feeding trough. His triumphant entry wasn’t mounted on a prancing steed of pride or a spectacular, show horse but rather He approached His ‘palm branch waving,” crowd of fans, on a borrowed donkey, as a lowly servant of God, coming only to seek, to save and to serve. This journey would end in death but the ultimate irony ~ Victory over it! That’s always God’s way ~ Good out of bad!

Christ didn’t come to make war with gunfire and bloodshed or to take by force as earthly kings do, but to win hearts by unconditional love, awesome mercy, amazing grace and His own shed blood and ‘self’ sacrifice for a world lost in wretched sin. He didn’t come to take people captive but to set them free; those bound tightly in their sin and on death row. He doesn’t rule a kingdom of mighty armies but His Kingdom is of Heavenly angels and weakened blood washed saints who have been refined in the fires of adversity and come forth as gold. Powerful, prayer warriors, who’ve been washed in the Blood of the Lamb, cleansed, forgiven and set free from the chains that bound them; they are those who’ve been purged in the fires of struggle, and trial and who have tasted the results of bad choices in the fast lane and on the downside, yet strengthened, quickened and renewed by them all at the same time. His saints and warriors know how to fight the good fight of faith by putting on the full armor of God in order to stand against the wiles and deceits of the enemy and in all faith, they know how to pray mighty prayers that move the hand of God upon our sin sick earth to see results for the glory of God’s Kingdom!   He came not to take nations down but to heal their land through forgiveness and changed lives. He takes minds and renews. He takes lives and cleanses, setting them on the path of healing to new life in Christ. His message is not one of anger but of peace with God!   A peace that’s not of this world:

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14: 27:

Only a week after His triumphal entry, Christ carried His own cross to that Gethsemane Hill where He willingly laid down His life for the good of the world. He offered peace, but the majority didn’t get it, and the cross ruled as they nailed Him there ~ as we nailed Him there in those lonely moments, when God turned His back allowing the sin of the world to be laid on Him. It was there on that ugly yet beautiful cross that Christ took the sin of mankind upon Himself.   Let your mind wander to that Hill, to the mercy cross!    Let your heart follow to that place where justice and mercy meet; to that scandalous place of blood shed, horrendous horror, torture, humility and sacrificial servant hood to the ultimate degree! Yet against all odds, three days later, He rose again, defeating death, according to and fulfilling His Father’s will.

Meet Him there at the cross, for forgiveness and then look to His victory over death and the empty grave for hope and everlasting life beyond death!

One day He will rule the world in peace but until then, He still desires to make His triumphal entry into the individual hearts and souls of those that will receive Him; to set up His Kingdom of peace in the lives of human kind one by one and in so doing, heal the nations of the world one heart at a time, through cleansing and forgiveness, saving it and it’s people from it’s own sinful, self –destruction. He still offers peace but the majority just doesn’t get it!

His motive is salvation! His driving force forgiveness and healing! His message ~ unconditional love and His rule is peace! It’s simple yet many don’t get it!  Have you got it?

The Faith ~ Grace Journey

Little Thoughts For Big Days
Little Thoughts For Big Days

Sometimes we just try too hard to do it right in this life ~ to make the mark and to succeed before God. God says we don’t have to do that! It’s not about the good we do or the bad we don’t do! We don’t have to try so hard because it isn’t about us and how good or bad we’ve been, but rather how can we glorify God in our living “now” before Him! “Living For Him is evidence of our “Faith in Him”! It’s about His grace covering us when we don’t. Has His forgiveness made a difference in your life? Have you met Him at the cross, where mercy and justice meet? Have you taken care of that crucial request and that awesome opportunity for the good of your own soul? Have you believed His words and accepted His Salvation plan for your life? That’s your beginning! From there it’s a journey onward; the ‘journey’ into spiritual maturity of renewed heart and mind only begin at the moment of salvation! It’s not an instant growth pattern and it’s not the same for everyone. It takes time for the baggage to drop and Growth to happen and God’s grace is there to cover the slip ups, the baggage that we hang on to and the missed marks that we don’t have to strive for. We can never make up for all of those and He knows that! Our success is measured not by what we do or don’t do, but by allowing God’s grace to cover the faults as we persevere in this
“Faith” / “Grace” journey … Even when… Even if… Even though… ♥ ♥ ♥

Ephesians 2:8-9

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
