It’s Okay Anyway


So perhaps it’s a bad day for you and It’s been a drastic day so far of everything going wrong that could and you’re left wondering if you can selvedge any of its precious moments to redeem the time and still manage to keep some kind of sanity in this ‘all gone wrong’ world of yours?

Some days are just like that aren’t they? Well, beautiful soul, you gotta know that even in the midst of all the fight and conundrum and confusion and hard stuff that’s going on, God’s got it for you, held tightly in His hand! Yeah, and He does know your frustration and your panic and the worry nipping in that apprehensive heart of yours! And those ties that wrap in tight knots that won’t undo, around that mind of yours? Yeah, He knows those too. So, that next hard thing and difficult place ~ Just float through it right into His safe keeping! Under the shelter of His wing! Safe on the rock of His protection! Secure in His shield and confident in His salvation. He is there for you even on the rainy days and the blue days, and the so ‘gone wrong’ days. He led David through a few of those with a jealous Saul in relentless pursuit.  David knew death entangled him and torrents of destruction overwhelmed him but he called on his God for help and His God delivered him and gave him a song and he gave praise back to the God who delivered, with the words of the song in Psalm 18: 1, 2, 3

“I love you O Lord my strength. The Lord is my Rock, my Fortress and my Deliverer; my God is my Rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the Horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call to the Lord who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies.”

The Cross And Beyond

So today ~ for all the anxiety pulling at your heart and nipping at your heels, shake it off! Rise above it! Float over it! It’s a weight that you can not carry and a burden that you can not bear! These hard place are not yours to think about for their only pot holes that trip you up and block you in your journey on life’s way.  Anxieties steal your hope, rob your joy and take your peace.  So beautiful soul, Shake them off!

Look today to the gift of the cross!  That horrendous place of agonizing death and blood shed on that Calvary hill where our Lord took our place and freed us from the oppression of sin and all that goes with it in this life.  Look to the cross and celebrate that scandalous event of blood shed, and know that it was all for us, for our forgiveness and for our freedom from the bondage that has us so anchored down. Go on ~ celebrate the cross of Christ for what it is and what it means to our wretched, beautiful souls, but then look beyond its agony to see its beauty and the hope of heaven that it brings to those of us who believe. Ah yes, beautiful one, those anxieties, those hard places, those difficult steps of the day, are all part of this sinful life but not to be handled by us. So give them to the one who did the difficult for us and carried the cross!  To the One who handled the cross and managed the rejection, the pain, and the ultimate death at the hands of human brutality. Jesus is He who died selflessly and conquered death and sin and shame and ~ beyond death, rose to victor over it! It’s glorious isn’t it? So you see, we win! We do, you and I! We’re the winners over the rough spots, over the sin, over the snares, over the pot holes, over the hopelessness. The anxieties? God holds them in safe keeping for you. He’ll lock them up and work them out. He offers a scenic detour around all of that stuff and beautiful soul, it’s a beautiful view. One that you don’t want to miss. So today, Look to the cross, but then beyond it, look to its beauty; that of the hope of eternity and press on keeping your eyes fixed on Jesus the author of our faith!

No Fear

2 Timothy 1:7.
“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”

Through this letter, all who take up the cross and follow Jesus are charged to complete the ministry that God has given them, through the life giving power of Christ’s resurrection.

As Paul writes to Timothy from a Roman prison he gently and firmly challenges him to Rome to carry the work of Christ forward. Paul reminds Timothy of his genuine faith, rooted and grounded in his grandmother and his mother. Timothy’s faith was authentic and strong and he was to pick up the torch and carry it in Paul’s absence. Paul prepares him mentally and emotionally for the suffering that may be ahead as he works for the sake of the Gospel, yet encourages him to cultivate the spiritual gifts that God has given him to further enhance the work of the Lord. In other words, Timothy, it won’t be easy street, but you must remain true, loyal and steadfast in your faith, knowing that God goes before, preparing the way and even in hostile environments then, there is no room for fear.

This message rings in our ears today and so for the sake of the gospel message of salvation, we must rise to the challenge of spreading the Word of Truth. God wants His people to get up in Jesus name and fight the good fight of faith, running with perseverance to take a hold of the same power that Paul knew and had at his disposal. Paul didn’t just talk it, he lived it out, even in the face of adversity, through prison walls and impossibilities, he lived it and it showed to onlookers.


Beautiful souls, Let’s rise from our seats of complacency and compromise and allow the Lord to stir up a passion within us for the salvation of the lost! There is no room for fear when we are equipped with God’s spiritual gifts, His presence, His power, His victory and a passion to serve Christ at all cost.

Guard Your Mind

Proverbs 14:22
“Do not those who plot evil go astray? But those who plan what is good find love and faithfulness.”

Proverbs 3:27 says, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” It’s pretty straightforward isn’t it? We will become what we allow our minds to dwell on. Have you had the experience? Where you found yourself so saturated in worry only to become paranoid? Have you been immersed in a fear so strong, that it paralyzes you? Have you been bound in strongholds so tightly that you feel claustrophobic, hopeless and helpless to free yourself? It’s our minds, and our thinking that gets us into these horrible places of ruin. The mind is the first line of defense, and the target for the enemy’s entry into a life and a temptation is his way in. It’s his foot in the door, and if we give him a foot in he can get our mind, he can get our heart and he can get our life so entwined in sin that life becomes hopeless.

Let’s hide 2 Corinthians 10:5 in our back pocket and engrave it on our hearts as a reminder to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
2 Corinthians 10:5 “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” Our actions and behavior will follow our thoughts, therefore we have to take action in our thought life. As believers and disciples of Christ, Let’s be challenged today to fix our mind on truth, holiness and the excellence of Christ as we hear Paul’s words to the persecuted Christians in the Church of Philippi, in Philippians 5: 8, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.

We cannot think defeat and expect victory. We will become as our thoughts direct us. Think on what is good and find joy and hope, love and faithfulness! Defeat the enemy; Think victory and behave victoriously.
