False prophets abound today in our present day Babylon don’t they? Giving us false direction, preaching from pulpits and selling books that lead us astray. Fortune tellers make their fortune preying on those who seek their advice and counsel when those who seek their counsel should be seeking out the words of the one true God of Creation and the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob. Seeking the God who led His people down through the pages of biblical history, protecting His lineage in order to bring the perfect plan of salvation for a lost world, into the big picture. Everything He allowed for His people was for an ultimate purpose to fulfil His plan and make it happen. He did it in spite of those that came against Him! Yeah, today, He’s still sovereign and in control! He hasn’t changed. He still has a plan for your life, and for a messed up world, when the leadership of our countries is at an all time low, He still has a plan for good and not disaster. A plan for your future all wrapped up in grace to propel you forward with hope. Seek Him!
He gave words of warning to His people, through His prophet, Jeremiah, whom He called, to not listen to the lies of false prophets but to seek Him and Him alone. Bonus on that ~ if they and ~ if we today, truly search for Him we will find Him. Take heart in this moment! Stay away from those that trick and tickle your ears with pleasantries and prey on your vulnerability with lies! Today ~ you beautiful soul, Seek the LORD of Heaven’s armies, and walk in the Truth!
“This is what the LORD of heaven’s armies, the God of Israel says: “Do not let your prophets and fortune-tellers, who are in the land of Babylon trick you. Do not listen to their dreams, because they are telling you lies in my name. I have not sent them says the LORD. But this is what the LORD says, “You will be in Babylon for seventy years but then I will come and do for you all the good things I have promised, and I will bring you home again. For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and hope. If you look for me wholeheartedly you will find me.”
