So yeah, some days it seems like the whole world is crowding in on yours and your little space becomes oh so much smaller with people out of place and distractions pounding at your door. Where’s the logic to all this stuff and where did all the chaos come from? Your once quiet moments have become noisy with demands! Your fears surface and your anxieties reel out of control. A once safe-place becomes perilous and frightening and a once peaceful plateau suddenly dips into the valley of despair. So much, so many, so this, so that, and on and on it goes and where it stops nobody knows!

Oh for sure, no one knows anything about it except our Keeper and our Maker. Our God who cares deeply for our needs. In Psalm 46:10 He gives a direct message to the psalmist to confirm the authenticity of his vision when He says “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” The whole of the next chapter ~ Psalm 47 celebrates God’s kingship over the earth and His sovereignty over the nations. So you, beautiful soul, let God’s presence and power envelop you right where you are, and allow Him to hover over your little world and saturate it’s chaotic nooks and crannies with His divine presence and drive out the uncertainties and unsettled anxieties. Hush, be still and know Him for who He is, and as a God who’s King over the earth and in charge of the nations, you can know He’s in charge of your corner! Your world is held and orchestrated by Him and held fast in the palm of a nail imprinted hand and He’s got it and He’s got you and He cares. He really does!
So now, when it’s all gone wrong and left and not right and it’s all empty yet so full of stuff, come on now beautiful you and join the choir director in Psalm 47 1, 2, 3, “Come everyone! Clap your hands! Shout to God with joyful praise! For the Lord Most High is awesome. He is the great King of all the earth. He subdues the nations before us, putting our enemies beneath our feet.” So when the big world is closing in on yours, meet the frustration and manage the panic head on by just praising our God, the sovereign One! The creator of Heaven and earth, who cared enough to provide a way to safety through Jesus our Savior, the One true King, the victorious One, the saviour of our beautiful souls and the author and finisher of our faith!

Hebrew 12: 1, 2, 3
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off every encumbrance and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with endurance the race set out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.…”

I wonder if we, as believers just sit in the church pews Sunday morning half asleep? Oh yeah, we sit and hear messages of social gospel and nice things and good people and how we can be good people and how it’s good enough just to be good people. Or perhaps we do hear powerful, biblical sermons but yet not really hear the words nor be impacted enough to let them change our lives or our worlds. We come, we smile, we chat, we go and we walk to our cars feeling like we’ve done our duty to attend and yeah we’ve given God His Sunday time, and possibly our tithe, maybe even our talent but deep inside our hearts are empty, cold ~ and far from the Father, the Sovereign One who longs to have real fellowship with us. What is it we don’t get? What is we don’t understand? We can judge from critical hearts, and call the shots for others putting them in their place, while all the while our own problem goes undetected and unnoticed by our own heart. Our own selfish, spiritual blindness is our downfall and our spiral downward.
Beyond impossible circumstances today? It’s ok! God looks after those! He holds them in nail imprinted hands so that you can free yours from the weight of it all. There’s no need to fret because ~ the most awesome thing? He does the impossible! He performs the miracles out of the emptiness and impossibility of it all. Take it to Him! Give it to Him and tread lightly in His footsteps as He guides your way! That issue isn’t yours, It’s His and He has a plan for it, even when it all appears like crumpled hope and a torn page out of your story. He’s guided many through the consequences of bad choices, the bitterness of brokenness, and through the dimmed lights of lost causes. He uses those very things to propel His plan and fulfill His goal to bring you to His preferred place, customized just for you. Don’t you know it? That just what He does!! He did it for our Biblical patriarchs and heroes and beautiful soul, all is well ~ He’s still the same today and He’ll do it for you ~ just for you!!
