Pray On

Little Thoughts For Big Days
Little Thoughts For Big Days

So you’ve been praying diligently for a long time and it just all seems so futile. The saying that prayer changes things is up for grabs as far as your experience takes you. At times like these, remember ~ God is faithful, and take a look back to see how He’s worked in times when it didn’t seem like He worked at all. Ahhh yes, there was that time when you couldn’t figure out how things worked out that way or why ~ or yes ~ there was that small happening that was easily passed off as co-incidence but deep down you knew it was totally God’s hand in such an unpleasant situation. Time and time again He’s proven faithful, so make sure that you don’t roll the stone of unbelief over that prayer that still awaits an answer. God creates new! Change will happen! God’s got it and if you’ve been praying He’s working and that you can know for sure. Those discouraging times are all for a purpose! Those delays, those setbacks, those postponements, those failures ~ He’s got them all in the palm of His scarred, imprinted hands and He’s workin’ ’em out. Relax and pray on!

Romans 12:12
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

Safe And Protected

DSC_3301
Have the past few days taken you to wearisome places and places of unsettled unrest? Tight corners, time pressures, broken moments and frustrations laced with disappointment and pained experience? The Psalmist knew of a safe place to hide away from it all ~ even just for a few minutes of reprieve! That highest place that one can go for protection ~ into the shelter of the Host High God to rest in the shadow of the Almighty. It’s here where we can regain strength for the next round of life. The God who knows all knows how weary it all can be for our humanity and yes, He knows just how much we can take and doles out just enough of His divine, sustaining grace to get us through.

In the shelter of the Most High God! What a magnificent, glorious place of refuge. It’s only here in His shadow, under His wing that we will find that protection from the enemy’s snares. It’s only nestled close to Him that we find divine peace and much needed rest that the worries of the day rob from us. He alone is our salvation and in Him, we need not fear the terror of the day or the pestilence of the night. Oh but life is so heavy and we can get so weary can’t we? Yet ~ He is so faithful to carry us through and by His grace He will protect, He will deliver, He will satisfy and He will command His angels to guard us in all our ways. Beautiful soul, It doesn’t get any better than this. “In the shelter of the Most High,” .. What an absolutely, exquisite, astounding, awesome place to hang out!!!!

Psalm 91:1

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”

Dump The Fear

Little Thoughts For Big Days
So today, go to the throne of grace and dump your fear at the foot of the cross! You don’t need it and you don’t want it. It’s like a dead-weight bound around your ankle holding you down from the amazing potential that God has given you. He has work for you to do, so manage the fear today. Take it to the One who knows your intricate heartbeat, and fashioned you to be the beautiful soul you are for His purpose. Don’t miss out on that blessing because of fear that the enemy puts in your pathway. When it nudges you or looms high in your journey, give it the cold shoulder with some good, ole’ fashioned promises from God’s word and nip it in the bud or zap it out cold. Your life is too precious to taint it with the paralysis of such a threat. God has you, let it go! Stand firm and take up your sword, which is the word of God, to begin your journey of trust once again and find the peace in the promises of God.
The first thing Gideon had to do when preparing for battle was to whittle down his army. He had too many fearful men, that couldn’t be used. Fearful soldiers are a threat to the others and a threat to the battle. Fear is the one of the most used tools of the enemy to defeat God’s people.

Judges 7: 2, 3
The LORD said to Gideon, “The people who are with you are too many for Me to give Midian into their hands, for Israel would become boastful, saying, ‘My own power has delivered me.’ 3″Now therefore come, proclaim in the hearing of the people, saying, ‘Whoever is afraid and trembling, let him return and depart from Mount Gilead.'” So 22,000 people returned, but 10,000 remained.”

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1: 7

The Blessed Moment

Little Thoughts For Big Days
Little Thoughts For Big Days

So today is yours ~ just yours to spend how you desire. Oh I know there are deadlines, and time pressures and things to do and things to get done, but still the day is yours if by God’s grace you’ve been given another breath to breathe and another moment to savor. Breathe deeply and savor well. These are all God moments and tiny, little miracles that won’t come again. Moments appear and disappear into history, but the attitude with which we see them make us or break us. Yeah, life can be a challenge for sure and sometimes, just when we think it can’t get any worse, it does! So ~ offer praise any way, even through the rough terrain of your so human world, because you know that a divine and sovereign God oversees and has all your moments covered and even in those not-so-nice ones, you’ll find He tucks sweet and sometimes simple blessings in the depths of them for your enjoyment. Don’t miss ’em with grumpy thoughts or crowd them out with fear, worry or a complaining spirit. Take time out to find them today. As each moment comes to you in this chaotic and mixed up world ~ Let God speak to your beautiful soul and find that nugget to ponder in your heart and yes, praise God any way for his compassion and protection and oh yes, His sweet and amazing grace. That’s why we’re here ~ only by His grace and to glorify Him. Make your moments count! Make beautiful history today!
