Take Time To Smell The Roses

Little Thoughts For Big Days
Little Thoughts For Big Days

It is an absolutely, wonderfully mild day and soooo “spring – like” day that I can’t believe it’s the same weather gracing our outdoors! πŸ™‚ The sun peeks through the clouds on occasion to dot sun splotches in mud puddles from the rains of days gone by and to cast hints of cheery brightness here and there on our green earth. Yes, spring is in the air and did I say I was delighted?

So yes, just take time to enjoy life today ~ to stop and smell the roses today and in spite of the struggles that have you caught in their cross fire, catch the sweet, fragrance of the delicate rose! Yes,enjoy the roses but  they come with thorns, so be careful. The sharp prickles are a natural element of their creation and are there to remind us to be gentle and thoughtful in our choices along the way or we can be easily hurt by the beauty of things. Things that look amazing and wonderful can sometimes put stars in our eyes, blinding us from the truth! They entice yet end up stinging and luring us into webs of deceit and bondage where freedom to choose isn’t an easy option, and a way out becomes difficult as we sink lower into our own selfishness and the downward spiral. So yes, enjoy God’s beautiful creation and catch the fragrance of the rose but take care and be ever so mindful of the thorns today.

Genesis 3:6
“When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.”

James 1:14
“Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away.”
