He Meets Us Where We Are!

Romans 8:38-39

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

These words speak of a powerful, binding, everlasting love of our God for us. His love is stable and consistent and in it we are secure regardless of failure. It doesn’t increase with performance and decrease with mistakes. That’s only the way people treat people, but it’s not the way our God loves us. He loves us right where we are and in all that we go through. His love is vast! Immeasurable! Astounding! His grace amazing! It never ceases or quits even though we spurn Him, reject Him, ignore Him, belittle Him, question Him, despise Him or disobey Him! Our God will not change and our sin will not diminish His love for us.

The depth of the Red Sea with enemies in pursuit couldn’t separate His love from His people. He met them at it’s banks, in their panic, right where they were. The constancy of His love met their need and made provision for their deliverance to their victory as they made their way on into their promised land. What’s your height or depth today? It can not separate you from God. He reaches down into our unloveliness and into our hopelessness to restore, forgive, cleanse, heal and deliver. Let God meet you where you are today, and demonstrate His unfailing love to you.

“ I do not understand all the mystery of grace….only that He met me where I was and He did not leave me where He found me.” Anne Lamott
Is that not an amazing thought?
