Spend Grace Freely

Little Thoughts For Big Days
Little Thoughts For Big Days

So let’s begin another new day by accepting God’s grace to begin again! While we’re at it, let’s stuff our souls and our hearts and our pockets with excess to lavishly spend on others throughout the days ahead.

It’s so daily isn’t it ~ This giving of grace? So all the time and so everywhere and on everyone? The wrong thing said, the rude remark, the uncaring soul, the friend that didn’t care ~ and the list goes on and on and on, and then we take a look at our inside selves to see just as much “uncalled for” behavior from ‘self’ and we know that we need grace as much as they! Remember for all the misbehaved offenses, that come there is an accuser of the brethren, a father of lies and the instigator, who messes things all up with chaos and confusion. He twists our arms and our minds into thinking it’s the person causing the grief and takes great delight when we hurt and pin the blame on others rather than himself. So, when the pain sears and rips through your heart like a knife, turn it over to God and allow His mercy to find you and strengthen you. Allow His grace to mellow you and empty your beautiful soul of bitterness, anger and grief only to fill it with more of Him and His care, His healing and His sweet, unconditional love. Find a solace there in His rest and a peace there in His protection. Ahh, now you can empty your pockets of all that redemptive grace that you’ve stored away just for this special moment. Lavishly spend it on that poor soul in need and let them go. Ah ~ that’s where your blessing hides ~ right there in your freedom from the entanglement of it all. So ~ sweet and beautiful soul ~ Let it go and begin another week of freedom, walking with A God who truly cares.

Matthew 6: 14 & 15
“For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

Ephesians 4: 32
“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”

Have a nice day animated rose

Hopeful In The Dark

Little Thoughts For Big Days
Little Thoughts For Big Days

So I let one of my furry girls out into the rainy, early morning darkness and at this time of year I’m always afraid of skunks that might be lurking in the dark corners. One episode with a skunk can turn a whole world upside down in a matter of seconds as I found out a few years back! It was not fun and I dealt with skunk for a long while after the fact. This particular furry girl is getting up in years and at 14 doesn’t see or hear well, but is still pretty spunky in her actions, so she can be very illusive and I can’t call her back quickly, if she decides to run off. So ~ I let her go prancing off into the darkness as I stood holding my breath and hoping for the best. While waiting with teeth clenched in the tense stillness a beautiful chorus of early birds from nearby trees, presented their sweet, morning aubade for a brand new day. Their song occupied my mind and made the anxious wait just a little sweeter. In a few seconds I thought of a lot of things…. Oh Yeah ~ the world is in a mess for sure, and we don’t know just what’s around the next government corner or any other corner for that matter and just what does lurk in the darkness waiting to take us down in defeat, but it’s a beautiful world just the same. It’s a frightening journey sometimes, ~ this journey of life! And it’s difficult to stay focused on the good of it all ~ if there even is any good at all, because some days just seem like that. It’s a beautiful world if we see it with our soul eyes and through the eyes of a God who we know cares about us and for us. He’s graciously given us the beauty of things created for our enjoyment while we wait it out! But while we wait it out, let’s stay out of the dark corners as much as possible with ourselves and our minds and our worries and our cares and our concerns and our issues. Instead of going there, step out with God to the front porch and listen to the birds of His fabulous creation sing their sweet and beautiful song into our soul ears. Those same ears that hear Him speak sweet promises, gentle comforts, and awesome peace into our pain and brokenness.

My little furry girl returned just fine from around that frightening, dark turn and came bounding back to the door to safety. I picked her up to carry her down the stairs since she doesn’t see well enough on her own and all was good once again. No skunks, no issues and thankfully not a problem this time. Isn’t that what God does for us when we wander off into the complicated areas and into issues and make a huge mess of things, then come bounding back to Him? His unconditional love carries us with grace over the rough places and the uneven steps where we don’t see clearly in our humanness and ah yes ~ back to safety once again. Aren’t we thankful for His mercy? That’s what He does! I love how He does it.

Deuteronomy 23: 26, 27
“There is none like the God of Jeshurun, Who rides the heavens to your help, And through the skies in His majesty. The eternal God is a dwelling place, And underneath are the everlasting arms; And He drove out the enemy from before you, And said, ‘Destroy!’

Psalm 90:2
Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.

Covered By Grace

So you missed the mark? It’s ok! There’s God’s grace for that!

Ahh, that unconditional love that God gives is a blessing isn’t it? Aren’t you so thankful for it on the days when you feel you’ve missed the mark and it really doesn’t matter what others think anyway, it’s really about how God sees you! Even though you feel tossed, wrecked and blown about in the winds of chaotic guilt storms ~ God sees you beautiful and lovely. Ahh, yes He does! He overlooks the mark we missed and covers us with ~ that precious mercy and sweet grace of forgiveness again! Why are we so reluctant to accept it? It’s always there to meet us and cover us even in our most down of down moments. It’s always there for the worries that took over, the doubts that crept in, the fear filled moments where faith didn’t surface ~ no ~ not even for a second, and where temptation was stronger than our self-discipline.

There are so many crafty and subtle things the enemy uses to set us up, catching us in the trap of guilt ~ making us believe the lie that we’re not good enough for any good at all~ especially for any good things that God has to offer. Yet, that’s exactly what God had in mind for His created people with His plan of salvation wrapped in awesome, unconditional love. Christ, The cross, the shed blood, the grave, the resurrection and the victory over death. It’s what He came for and It’s yours! It’s mine! It’s ours for the asking and receiving of it. Look to the cross ~ it’s there for our salvation for this journey of “now” life and “Life Everlasting” and it’s there when we miss the marks along the way. Step into that peace!

John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever would believe on Him should not perish but have eternal life.”

1 Corinthians 1:18
“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”

A Magnitude Of Love

DSC_0026
1 John 4: 10

“This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”

God is the author, parent and commander of love. His love is the very foundation of our salvation. He loved us when we didn’t reciprocate. He loved us in our guilt, misery, shame and hopelessness. When we were polluted, unclean, unlovely and unlovable, He sacrificed His only Son for our wretched sinful condition, so …that we could be healed, restored, reconciled and made lovely. What sacrifice! What service! What mercy! What grace He bestowed upon us so that we might live life abundantly and live eternally blessed in His presence! O what a magnitude of love is ours in the deep, deep love of Jesus.
