Forgiven And Free

John 3:17
“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”

The truth that God loved the world is basic to Christian understanding, and the basis for our salvation (1John 4: 9,10). Most of us have some kind of an idea of a God of love, somewhere out there, yet we choose to ignore the thought. It’s time to face it, acknowledge it and see it for what it really is. It’s unconditional and the vastness of His love has no limit, no boundary and no prerequisite. We can’t earn it, buy it or work for it. It extends beyond all race and nation and yes, even to those who oppose Him. Take a closer look.. Contrary to what unbelievers think, God’s Son came to save those who embrace the darkness, not “condemn” them to judgment. When we live in spiritual darkness we have no desire to come into the enlightenment of Christ but if we see His light of Truth and truly recognize the tragedy of our own situation, we do have a responsibility to believe. Glorious reality check here! Think about it and bask in the hope of it! There will be no judgment for the one who comes into the light of the knowledge of Christ and accepts God’s plan of salvation for his/her life. When you meet Him at the Cross, you are freed from the condemnation and the bondage of your sin and the chains that bind you.

John 8:36, “If the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.” Have you been delivered from your sin? If not? Why not? Deliverance and forgiveness brings deliverance from the penalty and the condemnation and judgment of sin. Christ didn’t come to condemn you but to save you! If you’ve received His salvation, then, my friend, you are free indeed.
Oh the sweetness of it…….

Healing For The World

 Advent

Advent

The world is in a dark state now with fear and apprehension hanging on much like a fog relentless to lift. We can’t believe the stuff happening around us and we’re quick to talk of the evil and how rampant it’s becoming in our world.

Remember the world has always been in a sinful state! Evil has always been rampant. Christ was born into this wretchedness where a ruthless and jealous King Herod ordered all baby boys to their death to stamp out the threat of the new “baby” boy child, the King; Jealousy kills, doesn’t it? The Christ Child posed a threat to an evil King controlled by jealousy.

Yeah, you and I, we’re sinful creatures by nature. Born into sin..Those that do not have a saving knowledge of the Lord as their Savior are controlled by their sinful natures where darkness rules! When darkness rules, others are affected and innocent ones suffer the consequences. Let’s remember, We are not an island..What “we” do affects others..It’s not just the shooter or the one that plays out the bombing that’s at fault here in this tumultuous world of ours, but it’s ‘us’ as well….in the choices we make and the things we do and in the behaviors and actions that we take on.

Enter the majestic Star of Bethlehem, the Christ child who was born as the Light Of the World! Born to bring the light of hope and glory into evil. He’s the Savior and the only one that can make a difference in your heart or mine…So…even in the darkness, His love shines the light of Hope into our bleakness and into our dark days and although the sadness doesn’t leave and the mourning doesn’t stop…the joy comes in the morning and it comes to our hearts and it comes to our homes when we know Him and His saving grace in a personal way!! He sees us through the difficult times as sketchy as they are.

Although God doesn’t order or cause the hideous world events, the enemy of sin always carries it’s natural consequences!consequences that can be harsh and brutal, because sin destroys!! These terrible happenings, should be our wake up call and get our attention long enough to shake us from the sleepy slumber of passive complacency…and our “Who cares? I’ll live like I want attitude”…

Beautiful soul, Instead of asking, “Why does God allow such terrible happenings?” Let’s rather ask ourselves, “What will it take to give us a desire for personal change and wake ‘us’ up and move us out into a needy world as mighty warriors for the King of Kings leaving behind our selfish ways?

It’s just something to think about at this reflective, Advent season.
And so we ask it one more time, “What will it take?” ~k

Matthew 5: 14, 16
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Joy To The World

Advent
Advent

So it’s a beautiful, Advent season with peace and joy and happiness oozing in all directions and wonderful things are going down all over the world right? Not!!!!

It’s a crazy, mixed up world and peace is the laughing stalk of the town right now! How is it that we’re to have peace when the world’s in chaos and the countries are at war and the bombs are dropping and the refugees are fleeing and ISIS is taking and lives are being sacrificed and there’s no respect for anything or anyone anymore.
So ~ government laws are passed that are way out of Biblical bounds and have far-reaching and detrimental impact on future generations, and we’re suppose to be ok with that? Yeah, it’s a crazy world and the governments are oh so powerful but oh so weak! So ironic isn’t it?

But come now again to Bethlehem! See the babe lying quietly in the manger. Look at Him! See for yourself! Our joy doesn’t lie in our governments and in our world leadership. Our peace doesn’t come from all that goes on around us, not even for a second. It’s deeper than that. It’s stronger than that and it’s more accessible than anything this world can offer. As Christ ones, a Savior was born to us on that night long ago, under a Bethlehem star, so bright it lit up the world to make the heavenly announcement of the birth of “Peace”, the Prince of Peace, the Eternal Father, The Counselor, God’s son. Oh yeah, He’s our peace at this glorious Advent season. Our peace in the midst of heartache, sorrow, panic and fear. He’s our joy when happiness goes South and everything that can go wrong does. Our Lord and our King carries the weight of the world on His shoulders and the governments are under His rule and His reign. Nothing will go down that He doesn’t order! You can know that! In spite of nasty world events and a world turned topsy turvy and bad laws being passed and bad news everywhere in a crazy, mixed up world, we have a winner ruling our lives and giving counsel for abundant living through all the ragged edges!

So, come now to a glorious, peaceful and joyous Advent season! It’s in your own heart! That’s where you’ll find it. Even when the world is reeling in anguish and joy is non-existent, our beautiful souls can praise the God of our Salvation and sing “Joy To The World” to a world that has none and needs lots. Oh how marvellous are His works and how wonderful are His ways.

Isaiah 9: 6,7
“For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government
will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this.”

Hopeful In The Dark

Little Thoughts For Big Days
Little Thoughts For Big Days

So I let one of my furry girls out into the rainy, early morning darkness and at this time of year I’m always afraid of skunks that might be lurking in the dark corners. One episode with a skunk can turn a whole world upside down in a matter of seconds as I found out a few years back! It was not fun and I dealt with skunk for a long while after the fact. This particular furry girl is getting up in years and at 14 doesn’t see or hear well, but is still pretty spunky in her actions, so she can be very illusive and I can’t call her back quickly, if she decides to run off. So ~ I let her go prancing off into the darkness as I stood holding my breath and hoping for the best. While waiting with teeth clenched in the tense stillness a beautiful chorus of early birds from nearby trees, presented their sweet, morning aubade for a brand new day. Their song occupied my mind and made the anxious wait just a little sweeter. In a few seconds I thought of a lot of things…. Oh Yeah ~ the world is in a mess for sure, and we don’t know just what’s around the next government corner or any other corner for that matter and just what does lurk in the darkness waiting to take us down in defeat, but it’s a beautiful world just the same. It’s a frightening journey sometimes, ~ this journey of life! And it’s difficult to stay focused on the good of it all ~ if there even is any good at all, because some days just seem like that. It’s a beautiful world if we see it with our soul eyes and through the eyes of a God who we know cares about us and for us. He’s graciously given us the beauty of things created for our enjoyment while we wait it out! But while we wait it out, let’s stay out of the dark corners as much as possible with ourselves and our minds and our worries and our cares and our concerns and our issues. Instead of going there, step out with God to the front porch and listen to the birds of His fabulous creation sing their sweet and beautiful song into our soul ears. Those same ears that hear Him speak sweet promises, gentle comforts, and awesome peace into our pain and brokenness.

My little furry girl returned just fine from around that frightening, dark turn and came bounding back to the door to safety. I picked her up to carry her down the stairs since she doesn’t see well enough on her own and all was good once again. No skunks, no issues and thankfully not a problem this time. Isn’t that what God does for us when we wander off into the complicated areas and into issues and make a huge mess of things, then come bounding back to Him? His unconditional love carries us with grace over the rough places and the uneven steps where we don’t see clearly in our humanness and ah yes ~ back to safety once again. Aren’t we thankful for His mercy? That’s what He does! I love how He does it.

Deuteronomy 23: 26, 27
“There is none like the God of Jeshurun, Who rides the heavens to your help, And through the skies in His majesty. The eternal God is a dwelling place, And underneath are the everlasting arms; And He drove out the enemy from before you, And said, ‘Destroy!’

Psalm 90:2
Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
