He’ll Take It From Here

Little Thoughts For Big Days
Little Thoughts For Big Days

Embrace God’s love today and don’t throw in the towel because discouragement has it’s hold on you. Hope lies tucked away in those forlorn and lonely places and discouragements in God’s economy are merely growth elements to test your faith, grow your faith and catapult the real you into faithfulness and perseverance! They take you from phony to real! God sees you and He knows your issues more than you do. He’s the mastermind behind the solution but He is not a pie in the sky Santa Claus who dispenses everything we desire just because we desire it. His work goes deeper than that. He wants you! He wants us as empty as we are ~ as disappointed as we are ~ and yes, as discouraged as we are. If discouragement has you emptied of yourself, it’s all good ~ you’re in the right place where God can pick you up and move you forward. The answer lies over the horizon so don’t stop now! It not a key for us to lock the doors of opportunity and challenge and walk away consumed with a selfish”Woe is me”attitude.  Not at all!  We have to realize it is the enemy’s subtle device for slamming those doors in our faces though, leaving us feeling hurt, angry and bitter and ready to give up.   Ahh ~ those disappointments they come in all sizes and shapes and from all sides but don’t give in to them ~ Give them to a God who knows the end from the beginning and desires the best for everyone involved. He’ll work them out “for” you as He does a work “in” you, but it won’t be an overnight fix or a quick band-aid to merely make you feel better! His divine, healing ointment of grace, mercy, and unconditional love will spill out and fall over the hurts and saturate your soul with Hope. Let Him take it from here …

Romans 5: 3, 5

“Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope,  and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”

No Fear In Trust

Psalm 46:1

” God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”

He is our Rock, our Fortress, our shelter in the time of storm, and our Tower of Refuge! He is our Mighty God, our Everlasting Father, our Rock of Ages, our help in time of need and our shield of protection. He is our Salvation, our Saving Grace, our Redeemer and our King!

“Where can I go from Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence? If I go up to the heavens, You are there! If I rise on the wings of the dawn, If I settle on the far side of the sea, even there Your hand will guide me. Your right hand will hold me fast.” Psalm 139: 7-10.

“Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though it’s waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.” Psalm 46: 2, 3

Why do we fear?

The Psalmist knew who God was! He knew Him to be His protection and his strength in trial. Do you know Him? Can you grasp His greatness and His astounding, amazing protection in your time of need?

To know Him is to see fear cease and trust take root. He is Lord of Lords, Sovereign over all! He has our back and He cares deeply about every detail of our lives. Let’s be challenged today, to live like we believe it and let faith take root in our hearts and minds as we go about our day

Graceful Land

1 Corinthians 15: 20 – 28

“But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. But each in turn: Christ, the first fruits; then, when He comes, those who belong to him. Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death. For He “has put everything under his feet.” Now when it says that “everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.”

God, Your plan of salvation for a dying world is awesome, astounding and full of grace and glory. You are brilliant, and even in our greatest thoughts of You, You are greater still. Your thoughts are high and we can not attain unto them or even begin with our finite minds to comprehend all that You have for us. Your merciful plan of reconciliation, and sacrificial love through the death and shed blood of Christ on the cross, unites us and ushers us into Your Holy, Holy, Holy presence. As we enter humbly, before You we know that all is well with our soul, and indeed as Christ died, rose again and now lives to intercede for us, our flesh will die but in this life we live with life abundant and in death we live with life everlasting!! What Hope, What glory, What victory is ours!

If it’s over our head, it’s under God’s feet.

Divine Instruction ~ Our Obedience

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

God called Jeremiah to warn the kingdom of Judah, of it’s impending destruction. When he began preaching, Judah was relatively prosperous, free and secure. However things changed under the heavy hand of Nebuchadnezzar’s rule. Judah suffered greatly for twenty years before the city of Jerusalem was destroyed and they were exiled into Babylon.

Throughout these events Jeremiah warned of God’s judgment and destruction while God passionately urged His people to return to Him and receive salvation. Our verse today is one of comfort found in Jeremiah’s letter to those carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon. God speaks through Jeremiah and in his letter God’s words are relayed in v 4, ” This is what the Lord Almighty says to all those “He” carried into exile.” Notice that ‘He’. Even though the situation looked bleak, God admits to being responsible for where they find themselves. It was He that carried them there and even though they didn’t see it at the time. It was His doing they were there. Sometimes it’s so difficult to understand His plan isn’t it? Yet He had a plan for His people and their future and this event was a stepping stone; a means to an end for their salvation and prosperity. He was the direct cause and I’m sure they didn’t feel good or sense God had a plan in their misery; separated and abandoned thousands of miles from their homeland. Yet God still gave His divine instruction, “Build homes and plan to stay. Plant gardens and eat the food they produce. Marry and have children then find spouses for them so that you may have many grandchildren. Multiply! Do not dwindle away! And work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it for it’s welfare will determine your welfare.”

Wow!! God’s commands were to build, marry, plant, and eat even though their circumstances seemed hostile! In other words, get over it, accept reality, settle down you’ll be here for a while, so bloom where you’re planted.

In verse 11 God speaks comfort into their gloom and despair. He has plans for their good and offers hope for their future in spite of visible circumstances. Their responsibility is obedience to Him. This promise was specific to the exiles in Babylon, but God’s words still speak clear to us today and His promise has brought hope to millions of God’s people in difficult circumstances. Sometimes we may find He’s led us out of our homeland or can we say, comfort zone? It may not seem fair but in these times, our obedience to Him is crucial, if we are to benefit and prosper with His blessing. Let’s be challenged today in our places of discomfort and in our exiles, to put our feelings aside to hear His Truth, receive His counsel and follow Him in obedience!
