When The Pain Is Real

Some days the pain goes way deep and the hurt is really real and really hard and the heart hurts and the head hurts and the soul cries and the tears flow and the days are just so overwhelming.

In these anxious filled, difficult moments, we have an Author writing our lives with pen in one nail-pierced hand and a divine paintbrush of grace-filled red in the other. His blood was shed for us and yeah, He paints our story beautifully now because of it. He’s our Saviour and He’s made a way for us to make it through this hard place! Only because of the cross, His death, and His life can we have hope and do this hard thing, defying us and staring us in the face. So whatever it is He’s written and writing and hand-painted for your story, you gotta know He’s got this and His sustaining grace covers it for us. So beautiful you with beautiful soul, At such a time as this, He is our Healer, our Protector, and our Provider through it all and all the way to the cross He proved it. Now, just hand those anxious thoughts, that fear, disappointment, and deep hurt over into the pierced hands of the Saviour; the one and only Author of our faith who paints our story so perfectly; so beautifully perfect for us at such a time as this! It’s ok then to just breathe and rest in His care and safekeeping and know the promise of Romans 8: 28 is Truth!

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

In Preparation Of Advent

With so much going on in these minds of ours, let’s regroup and reset for the Advent season! Let’s reset for the season that rejoices in the birth of a divine, heavenly, baby born into an earth world for a huge purpose! Advent? it’s all about Him ~ The Christ Child, the Star of the season! His royalty, His divinity, His part man, part God side, who left the portals of Heaven to become flesh! Born to walk among us, feel the dusty earth beneath His feet, the hurt of rejection, the pain of sin, and the sting of death.

Take time to ponder His life as He lived it out in real-time, in real life and for us. You and I and we and us. Yeah forget the heaps of stuff on your plate and ponder Him, the Christ One. The divine baby, born in the stable to become the Christ Child, to become a man so human, yet so divine to walk among us, to become the Savior of the World. Our Savior! Our Lord! Oh, how beautiful He is to us not just at this season but all year, through the year! At Advent season let’s reset our thinking patterns, our mindsets, and our goals, and our purpose to focus on the Reason for our celebrations. Today just embrace His grace! Rest in Him! Rejoice in His mercy! Rejoice in His power to save one horrendous world that we find ourselves living in. Today! Rejoice in His unconditional love for the hurting and the fleeing! the lost and the ruined. The loved and the unlovely and the ones so desperately in need of Him and His tender touch!

Yeah, beautiful soul ~ Sit back and search your heart with “Time out” to reflect on His goodness at the beginning of a beautiful Advent season and remember where He brought you from and the golden threads He’s woven to bring you where you sit today.

So go ahead, get our your traditions packed in boxes and your fine, ornaments to grace the home with merry thoughts of Christmas and family and friends! Go for it! I love this time of year. Don’t you? Dig out the recipes for sweet treats and cookie exchange and bake up a storm because a fine celebration is about to begin! A celebration so rich and sweet with festivities that go so much deeper than decor and sweets and tinsel and lights and gifts! A celebration that goes beyond us and reaches to the King of Heaven who resides and lives in the life He’s given us ~ and still keeps giving and giving and giving!

Lay It All Out

So when it’s all said and done and there’s just nothing more to say, and there’s nowhere else to turn and your weary-worn self feels you’ve lost the battle, then take it to our all-knowing God, the Ancient of Days, the ever-present, all-knowing Beginning and the End! He’s the One who knows well your story full circle. Go on and tell Him your side! You have His His ear and His heart. Let Him speak peace into yours! He’s all about you and you can know that! He’s your refuge and your strength! He’s your Councillor, your protector, your advocate, your intercessor, your moderator, your peacemaker your reconciler and your Savior. He wears all the hats and carries all the authority to make your life come together when it’s turned upside down and inside out. So ~ beautiful soul, go to Him and pour out your troubled, restless, and fearful heart and find solace in your struggle when no one else will listen!

Psalm 46; 1,2,3,9,10
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof…He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire… Be still, and know that I am God:

Just Being Honest

So sometimes, just being honest here, we have to say we don’t have the faintest idea of what to do next. It just all came at once and now the mind is full of conundrum all on its way to nowhere. We just can’t be all to everyone, and we can’t do all that we want because we can just be so wrapped up so tightly in knots impossible to loosen. Anxiety, sickness, depression, misery, anger, aches and pains, and a whole host of things can hold us down and well ~ we need some kind of direction for sure! Some kind of down to earth guidance and some kind of solid advice with some kind of good insight and some kind of good plan! Yeah, some days that’s just about where we are in this journey and life looks incredibly long and dreary.

So, then, beautiful soul, get before your Maker and just be honest and ask for that direction! Take those knots into His throne room and lay them down at His feet. The Creator who spoke life into being. You know He’s got the next best move for your steps, and those doors? Well, they’ll open or close at His command if we wait honestly and patiently on Him. You gotta know that! The Psalmist reminds us in Psalm 37:23, “The LORD makes firm the steps of the one who delight in Him;”…..Such an awesome promise to stand those unsure feet on isn’t it? So take delight in our Lord and let Him lead your heart and your mind today into His perfect will and into His perfect plan of action.

Not only do our unsure feet need stability but our unsure hands and efforts need some kind of confirmation that we work in His will. I love the prayer of Moses, a man of God, who led God’s people from slavery in Egypt to Mount Sinai where he received the law and established a covenant with God. In Psalm 90:17, “And may the Lord our God, show us His approval and make our efforts successful.”

So yeah, today, beautiful one, ask for God’s favor to rest on you and your family! Trust Him to make your efforts work for His glory and your benefit. He’s got you and your story and you can know that!

Psalm 37:23
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in His way.”
