Just Breathe

So hey, maybe it’s time to just take a step back out of the day and out of the hectic, to look at the big picture. Is it really all that and worth getting anxious about? Is it really?

Sometimes, we get a clearer view when we distance ourselves from the activities! Grab a cup of Christmas tea and breathe through the next moment. Sometimes if we step back just a bit, we can see the facade and maybe begin to remove some of the layers, just to lay it all out before ourselves and our Saviour, in these final days of our Advent season! What ploughs through, that needs not to be so aggressive? Panic? Fear? Worry? Failure to get done what you so planned to do? Christmas isn’t about what we do or how we do it or how much we can do? It’s about enjoying precious moments with family and friends through our imperfections. It’s about forgetting the deadlines, or at least placing them into proper perspective!

So hey! This busy day you’re in, it’s time for tea and refreshment. Take time to come before the Lord and Savior and in quiet moments just light a candle ~ just you and Him alone. Let His words be a Lamp to your feet and a light to your pathway of next steps. Ask for His counsel, act on His still, quiet voice, and begin to peel away those things that shouldn’t be there cluttering up your beautiful Advent season.

“Tis a time for warm delights, family traditions, memories, and making more. Don’t let the sweet moments of the season dissipate into busy, chaotic schedules and fast-paced rituals, just because! Don’t let them sink into fearful thoughts and panic moments of ‘What’s next.” Rather, find ‘calm’ in His presence! Delight in His words and a new strength in His power!

So go ahead light that candle just between you and our Lord and find peace, find Joy, and find a love so extraordinary it will soften the harshest moments of your fear, anxiety, chaos, and strife.

“Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted, but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40: 30 31

He’s Got It

So beautiful one, just know as the days unfold, that God’s hands are big enough to hold all of those concerns of yours, so you don’t have to!

Yes, just when your mind’s on overload with all the stuff and you already have enough on your plate and your heart all but stops, when yet, something more surfaces, God says,

“I’ve got that too!”

You can rest assured He does, and you don’t even have to go there except to give it all over to Him. So, that financial pressure, kid trouble, health issue, relational crisis, major loss, and uncertain future can just be given over and left in His hands.

We have an awesome God of grace and mercy and He loves dearly and deeply with no strings attached. We don’t have to prove ourselves or qualify for top running, because in God’s Kingdom and economy, to lose is to win.

In Matthew 11: 27, 28, 29, Jesus Himself, revealed His relationship with His Father God explaining how everything He said and did was rooted in this Father/Son unity when He explains to His listeners,

All things have been handed over to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Even today, our Lord speaks for us and prays to His Omnipotent, all-knowing Father on our behalf and for our needs. He takes them all before the throne of grace. Yeah, all the anxieties, the issues, the pressures, and the shortcomings, He just lays them out before His Father and our God, who made all things, knows all things and holds all things in His hand and dear to His heart.

Think about that and let the depth of it saturate your soul! He’s got it for you today!

Well, He’s got you, beautiful one, and that’s enough! So rest in that thought and know that whatever life throws at you, He’ll bring you through because when our hands just can’t hold enough our Lord’s hands can hold it all.

When You Can’t See the Light, See the Son

“Light is sweet and it pleases the eyes to see the sun.”

Ecclesiastes 11:7.

Oh, how we love the light after the bleak and after the dreary! When skies are clouded with gray, oh yes, how we love the light then! Oh, how we cherish the rays of the sun when they win and fight their way through tough clouds and how we remember those rays of sunlight with favor in the storms and in the darkness of our lives. Yeah, in those desperately, dark days. sometimes we just want to throw in the towel and cease to run and forget to stand, don’t we?

Yeah, those just ‘give up” kind of days where we, for some reason, just can’t even stand on the promises of God! Some days and some seasons, It’s difficult to stand for the Truth, to stand for what’s right, to stand for the Light, or to stand for anything at all, isn’t it? No light, no sun, no hope, no motivation and who cares anyway? Just give it all up and dissipate into oblivion. It seems so much easier and safer that way!

Beautiful soul, are you ‘standing’ strong still or has uninvited trouble sideswiped you off stance, off course, run you off-track and mislead you out of whack? Has your world spiralled downward with all manner of distractions, and taken you along for the plummet? Yes, even when the sun shines and the days are good, we don’t see the light of it always, because too much stuff is in the way of our belief and too much dark covers our insight and blinds our pathway.

“They have eyes, but they see not, ears, but they hear not”

Jeremiah 5: 21.

We cringe, we fear, we recoil and withdraw because even in the sunlight the mind is bleak and dreary some days. Well, you and I and we and us ~ When we can’t find the sun, it’s crucial that we look to the Son and the Savior to find His love gracing us even in the dark. Find His care watching over us, even in the night. Find His awesome grace sustaining us over the hard places and the difficult challenges. Find the Truth in His Word to light our way and His protection to guard our minds, our hearts and our souls.

Yeah, in the dark, when the sun isn’t shining for the time, we must seek Him, find Him and follow Him! We dare not wait for life to be perfect and light before we determine to see the sweet, sweet light of Jesus’ face in the inclement weather of life itself.

The writer of Ecclesiastes wisely states in 11: 4,

“Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.”

We truly have a need to look beyond the cloud and see the Son, even in our darkest hour because when we see the Son, the sun will shine again and once again hope will rise up within our souls.
