Happily Ever After

It’s a perfect love story, isn’t it? The kind of love that reaches to where we are, and loves us lavishly in spite of ourselves. A love that accompanies an incomprehensible grace, that doesn’t leave us where it finds us. Oh how sweet it is, this Agape love; so kind, so compassionate, so unconditional, so amazing, so extensive, so inclusive, so across the board, so accepting and so embracing and beautiful one, we sit so unworthy and yet so worthy in the name of Jesus, because God loved us while we were yet sinners. It’s a heavenly and divine love story! For the believer, one of those kinds of stories with a happily-ever-after ending because of our hope of glory and life eternal! Its measure is vast and its value is priceless!
What a gift it is to us today! Open it for yourself and see.

So, in all you have to do on this last day of our Advent journey, through all the preparation, through all the hurt, or sadness or disappointment, He whispers, “I’ll love you through it and together we can do this!” ❤

1 John 4:9
“This is how God’s love was revealed among us: God sent His one and only Son into the world so that we might live through Him”

Romans 5: 8
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Love Gift

So maybe the only thing we need to think about right now is the little “King” that came to the manger to rest in straw. The One who left the royal heaven-lies to bring the royal heaven-lies to us. You know, anything else we can think on, pales in comparison! One of the most precious Love gifts ever given was given by God to us on that sweet night in the little town of Bethlehem! It was a compassionate gift of Majesty, all wrapped in swaddling cloths and His presence brought Light, Hope, Peace, Joy and Love.

It was a beautiful example of majestic humility and it broke through the stillness, the dark, the night, the hurt, the pain, the loss, the rejection just for us and for our oh so needy world. So ponder it today! We have so much to be thankful for don’t we? Ponder that baby King who was sent to grow, to die, to rise again and to raise us to new life in Christ. Yeah, such a precious Gift of Love was laid in a crude bed of straw that night. It was beautiful but it was only the beginning of the awesome story of salvation!

Joy Unspeakable

So hey you there, with heavy heart and hard circumstances beating down your door, there is blessing there, because the joy of the Lord alone, is our strength and in His presence alone, is joy beyond our comprehension. I know it sounds so cliche doesn’t it, to say there’s blessing tucked away in the hard places? But the Apostle Peter knew that blessing, like ‘treasures’, lay hidden in trials as he wrote to encourage the persecuted Christians in his day! Still today, beautiful one, his words echo through to us, right here, right now, in this season of celebration of our Lord’s birth, piercing through our dark days, hard times, isolation, loneliness and rejection. This season of holly, jolly? It’s not about comfort, good things, and happiness, and although the world places high emphasis on such things, It’s not about that! It’s about a sense of deep, inner peace in our Saviour’s presence and a trust and contentment in all things that He works in our waiting. It’s focusing on His presence in us that brings a sense of trust to our hearts and minds to erase the depth of the struggle, the intense fear, and the painful aloneness and replace it with a joy unspeakable. ❤

1 Peter 1:7-9 So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead even though you have to endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold-though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials it will bring you much praise and glory and honour on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world….though you do not see Him now you trust Him and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. The reward for trusting Him will be the salvation of your soul.”

Pure Joy

Let’s come now into this third week of our Advent celebration and light the candle of Joy.

Our candle of Hope still burns brightly to represent the precious ‘hope’, and anticipation that’s ours with the Messiah’s birth.

The candle of ‘peace’ glows still with the precious gift of it heralded in by our Savior’s birth, and what a delight to know Him in this glorious Advent celebration. What a delight to know the peace that only He can give in times of sure uncertainty! But now let’s light the candle of Joy; to let it sparkle and glow in a peaceful and hopeful Advent season! Joy in this world? It’s hard to come by, so where on this earth is Joy? It’s not in our stuff, our surroundings, our circumstances or our happiness but as we worship the Saviour, we find It’s lodging in our own heart! Yeah, right there within us and sometimes, in the middle of nothing good, it still burns brightly in that soul because joy isn’t about things or situations or friends, or finances! Joy is about contentment in our Lord and knowing that in Him we have all we need. So let’s all just breathe now and know that He will provide, and care and grace us daily with His good gifts. Yeah, in your deepest self, and deepest soul, That’s where we’ll find it. Even when the world is reeling in anguish and joy appears non-existent, our beautiful souls can praise the God of our Salvation and sing “Joy To The World, the Lord has come” to a world that has none and needs lots. Oh how marvellous are His works and how wonderful are His ways. So come now and light this precious light of joy and shine it in your night and in the night of those in your circle of influence.

Isaiah 9: 6,7

“For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us, And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this.”
