A New Day Dawns(¸.•´ (¸.•´ .•´ ¸¸.•¨¯`• ♥k

“Teach me how to live O Lord. Lead me along the right path, for my enemies are waiting for me. Do not let me fall into their hands.” Psalm 27: 11

Today is a new day that dawns and It’s a new morning to be thankful for!!

They say a picture is worth a thousand words and this photo does tell a story..

After my son’s car accident on June 7th in the summer of 2012, we were very grateful that he was still alive because when one wraps a car around a tree, all logical reasoning would have had all three young men’s lives snuffed out and killed at impact.   God is good, and He spared their lives in that horrendous wreck. I loved how a news report questioned the women figure that some thought they saw, yet seemed to disappear into oblivion that night without a word!  Truth was, there was not a women involved at the scene of the crash, but I believe firmly with all my heart that what they saw was a heavenly figure and a guardian angel sent divinely by God Himself, to protect those three young men.   Phil, without a seatbelt, remained secure in the driver’s seat while the whole engine came crashing into the car.  He wasn’t thrown and he wasn’t crushed.    He escaped with only a broken ankle, but also with much emotional trauma!    It’s a trauma that will leave scars for a lifetime.   His friend, Wes, suffered severe brain injury in the wreck and hovered between life and death for weeks on end. The endless time seemed like years, and it seemed a time that we hardly dared breath as we dreaded every phone call during those devastating days!!   However, the multitude of prayers from God’s people brought peace to our hearts, that far surpassed all understanding. Looking back, the peace that surrounded us, walking through that horrendous time, was definitely something that can’t be explained.  I’m sure if I could see the big picture in hind sight, it would be one of those times when there was only one set of footprints because God had us covered and carried us gently in His arms.

The Lord  restored life back to Wes, and in just four short months his recovery was remarkable. October 24th was his hospital release date, at which time he went home to continue on to full recovery with rehabilitation!  We thank the Lord for His faithfulness to us and look forward to possibly catching a glimpse of His purpose in all of this as time goes by.   If you see this blog and you are a praying person, I would ask you to put Phil on your daily prayer list for continual prayer support. The road ahead is long and winding and we pray for God’s purpose to be fulfilled in Phil’s life, and that this deep pain will not be wasted.

This photo depicts a trail that we walked with Phil after his ankle had healed sufficiently enough for him to manage! It was a hot day and the sun shone brightly. We were thankful for life itself as we made our way through this dense forest with our son, knowing full well that we had just been thrust into a season of denseness ourselves, where utter real life chaos didn’t make any sense at all.  It was a difficult season to focus on much of anything and we found ourselves walking through it very carefully, step by step!  We still tread carefully over much unknown ground, watching God unfold His miracles along the way.

We can truly relate to David’s words in Psalm 30: 1, where he says, “I will exalt You Lord for you rescued me. You refused to let my enemies triumph over me. You brought me up from the grave O Lord. You kept me from falling into the pit of death.”

Phil still has much road to travel, and much ground to regain as we cross many paths along the way! Through it all, we pray for wise learning and wisdom for life and we are confident of this, “That He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1: 6

If we have life itself, we have a miracle. If we’ve taken a breath this morning it’s a miracle. Let’s enjoy and savor every moment of it while we still can. For me, my camera lets me do just that as I walk around with it in my hand, enjoying the beauty of created things and life itself,.. Have a wonderful and blessed day my sweet friends.

In the Wastelands?

Psalm 63: 1

“O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.”

…”I have seen You in Your sanctuary and gazed upon Your power and glory. Your unfailing love is better than life itself. How I praise You. You satisfy me more than the richest feast. I will praise You with songs of joy.” Ps. 63: 2, 3, 5.

David was living in the desert, hiding from enemies and finding himself in a spiritual wasteland, separated from God’s people and the sanctuary. Can you identify? Have you been there? In a spiritual wasteland, hiding from enemies, as David was?

Maybe it was a wilderness of darkness while attempting to hide your sins? Maybe it was a parched wilderness of rebellion, fear and selfish pursuits? It’s in the wilderness, the alone moments, those moments that we see the emptiness of ourselves, that we have time to think, to remember, to ponder. David had time to reflect, remembering that he had found God to be present in His sanctuary and He knew that the highest quality of life was found in a relationship with God and so He praised Him right there in the emptiness of it all, with songs of joy! God meets the weariness and quenches the thirst of the down and out. He brings light into the darkness and Hope into the hopeless! He knew God’s protection, care and consistent love even in the wastelands, for even the wastelands and wilderness become His sanctuary and our protection when we choose to meet Him there.

Psalm 27: 13, 14

“Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness, while I am here in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.”

The Psalmist here, is expressing full confidence and so importantly “Hope” in the Lord His God, even amidst the struggles of life and the enemies that accused and waited to take his life. Can you do the same today? Are you going through hardship, difficulties, adversity? Has something sideswiped you off your feet leaving you frustrated, discouraged, and downcast. Have poor choices of loved ones, or perhaps even your own bad moves, placed you in the pit of despair? Does your hope fade and do you feel like just running from it all? Remember, the enemy is at work and he roams about seeing whom he may devour. He’ll snap you up in a split second of unawareness, much like an insect entrapped in a spider web.

I watched yesterday, as a bumblebee happily buzzed around some flowers but little did he know of the spider web that awaited his flight. The happy buzzzz came to a very, quick halt as he flew directly into the web. He was completely caught, tight and fast with no chance of escape. The huge spider was out like a flash for the capture to complete his work and shoot his poisonous venom into his unsuspecting prey. Since I was there and saw the whole thing go down, my heart was for the bee not the spider and so I grabbed a stick to release the bee from his thick web of hopelessness. He dropped to the ground, recouped and went on his merry way happily buzzing around the same flowers. I destroyed the web and sent the spider back into hiding. The web was gone, but the spider is still there somewhere, to rebuild and reweave and set another trap. The enemy works the same way and sin has the same snare. Christ is the One who frees us from it’s venom and it’s destruction. He’s our mediator and our way to God. He rescues from the entanglement of sin and sets us on the right path…the path of righteousness!

Focus on the Lord with all your mind, soul and heart when going through trials, tribulations, struggles, disappointments, despair, confusion, heartache, frustration and failure. Delight in Him! Come into His sweet presence! Wait on Him! Think on Him, meditate on Him! Talk to Him and Listen to His still small voice speaking peace into your situation. You will find He’s the anchor in your wind tossed boat. The life preserver in your deep water. The refuge in your storm. The hope in your despair. The strength in your weakness! The peace in your confusion. The healing in your heartache. The calmness in your chaos and the victory in your failure!!

So friends, take heart!! Remain strong in the Lord! Be confident that God is looking after you and the events in your life regardless of how it feels. Give Him the reigns, the driver’s wheel and the controls of your life. Remain there, until He takes you out and brings the blessing!! He knows what He’s doing. He’s the sovereign Lord, the creator of all things. He holds your struggle in he palm of His creative hand. He can crush it! It’s His hand that turns rags to riches, and makes beauty from ashes. Wait on the Lord in your time of trouble and He will lift you up to a place of honor, because that’s just what He does. Let Him catch you in the fall! Our God is an awesome God! Let Him refresh you!

He reigns!! Let Him reign!!!

That Final Call Of Victory

Isaiah 46:4

“Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.”

The verse speaks of the constancy of God’s faithfulness as He extends His everlasting arms of love and care into through and over our lifetime. Though we change with years and fail many times, even in trusting Him, He remains constant as He stands by His promise of faithfulness to us, as His children and as His followers. Ahh yes, When aging body and frail bones threaten to take our health, God stands beside us to comfort, to carry, to bear with us and finally usher us to our glorious heavenly home in that last and final victory call over death!
