Praise Through The Problem

Little Thoughts For Big Days
Little Thoughts For Big Days

For the struggle you face and the battle ahead, remember God inhabits the praises of His people. It’s tough to give praise in the problem but our praise is an expression of faith and a declaration of victory. It will send the enemy running in defeat. Praise needs to be a lifestyle that we live out as consistently as we breathe. Remember how concerned Jehosaphat , King Of Judah, was when informed of the huge army coming against him? Did he panic? I’m sure he did, but he went to the Lord for counsel. He knew on their own they were useless and powerless. I love God’s answer, in 2 Chronicles 20: 15 – 17:  “….Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army.  For this battle is not yours, but God’s.   Tomorrow march down against them. You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you.” I love Jehoshaphat’s word to his people in 20:20:

“Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld…you will be successful.. He then appointed men to sing praise to God,  give thanks and praise Him for the splendour of His holiness.  Don’t you love what happened next….?

“Now when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah and they were defeated.”  2 Chronicles 20:22

The enemies became so confused they turned on their own and as God promised, He was victorious in the battle on Judah’s behalf. Their praise was sure evidence of their faith..It’s tough to praise in the thick of the battle but keep praising anyway.  Let your faith arise as you live it out daily in your lifestyle.‪strong>

“Do not be afraid: do not be discouraged.  Go out to face them tomorrow and the Lord will be with you.”

Battle Scars?

Little Thoughts For Big Days
Little Thoughts For Big Days

Maybe last year left you with battle scars and you feel afraid and alone in the midst of some pretty heavy stuff on your plate. As difficult as it is to keep walking through it ~ keep walking through it with the Lord guidance. It’s through  perseverance that our strength comes and our faith is made strong. Those things that don’t make any sense to you, don’t have to!  They will in time and when they do you’ll see it’s those very things that were being gently guided and controlled by your Faithful Heavenly Father.  Without any of your help it will all fall into place.

Pray, Relax and Walk on dear friend. trusting God to lead the way.

Walk on ~ Don't give up!
Walk on ~ Don’t give up!

Psalms 27:14
“Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!”

Romans 12:12
“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.”

Standard Of Measure

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Personal high standards without compromise are good but sometimes they aren’t cushioned with grace, for ourselves or anyone else, therefore, we tend to judge one another harshly because of it.    Our shortcomings may not be as obvious as the ones for whom we judge but they carry just as much the weight of sin!  Let’s remember we aren’t the judge, but God is!!   God’ s salvation plan is grace alone, just pure saving grace for our belief and our faith in Him. In return He blesses us with advice in His Word along with principles and commandments to live by for abundant life on earth.   Without His principles and commands,  we get ourselves into hot water time and time again. Blessed are we, when in failure, He graces us with forgiveness if we only ask and repent.

When others fail you, or offend ~ do the same for them.   Grace them!  Forgive them even if they don’t ask.  Show compassion and find peace for the new year ahead.

Matthew 7: 2 -5.
“In the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and behold, the log is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.”

God’s Call On Your Life

DSC03058 p

Luke 9: 23, 24

“Then he said to them all: “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it.”

Christ carried His humiliating and agonizing cross because of an amazing love that He had for His people. In order to bring salvation to a lost world He had to be obedient to His Father’s will. He fulfilled God’s purpose in His life and death, when He denied Himself of all rights and gave of Himself, freely and obediently, in His sacrificial death on the cross.

As His followers and as His disciples we have been commissioned to Go and make disciples of all nations Matthew 28:18 -20. We have been called to represent Christ in this same world lost in hopelessness and despair. God has equipped His people with spiritual gifts, special talents and skills to use for His work of building others up in the faith. Taking up our cross daily, is to be “obedient” to Christ in the work He has called us to. It may take us into frightening unknown places and places that aren’t pleasant. It may take us to beds of illness, heights of financial despair, rejections and disappointments, but through it all, ‘Self’ must take a back seat to allow us to get out there and be efficient in proclaiming the Good News of the Gospel of Christ to our circles of influence in a hopeless world.

Is it easy? No, it’s not easy! That’s why it’s a cross to carry! Discouragement can set in. We can become tired, fearful, dissatisfied and discontent. Hurt and broken we can fall away becoming like strangers to our faith on the skid row of our circumstances. In our hurt, we can easily become vulnerable to ravaging wolves and the enemy who seeks for whom he may devour,
1 Peter 5:8, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” Our desires get out of whack and our priorities get all mixed up. No, it’s not easy to be obedient to our Savior and our cross, so our cross for Christ must be a daily evaluation supported and bathed in prayer, for there is no room for ‘me’ on my cross as I carry it for Him. The irony of it is that our cross of obedience is the only way to fulfill His plan for our lives and the only thing that will bring abundant life to our living. We can’t explain it, it’s just His way! To try to hang on to selfish pleasures will only take us into the pit of sin and bring ruin, desolation and hardship and that’s where we don’t want to find ourselves.

Let’s remember, if the Lord calls us to it, He will take us through it, and bring blessing along the way.
