Our Faithful God

Somedays don’t we just feel like a broken record down here on this planet? We keep asking for the things we feel God has put on our hearts and we keep asking and asking, and asking. We see glimmers and then we don’t! We see help, and then we don’t. And we keep asking, seeking, and waiting for His answer. He’s delighted when we do, but a grateful heart for His faithfulness in the past is an awesome way to say thank you for the next miracle in His hand. Oh He’s so faithful isn’t He? He’s so faithful to stand by us and watch over us and care for us daily. One of my favorite verses found in Lamentations 2: 22, 23 reminds us of His mercies, new every morning, “The LORD’S loving-kindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.” Oh what a divine blessing to know this God of love and faithfulness at every turn of our lives.

Moses knew too, and was very aware of God’s faithfulness, when he penned a amazing reference for his God, to His people in Deuteronomy 32: 3,4, “I will proclaim the name of the Lord. How glorious is our God. He is The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and upright is He.” Oh yeah, he knew of God’s power. He had witnessed powerful miracles in the wilderness as he led the Israelites from slavery to freedom and ultimately to the brink of the promise; the land of milk and honey! He’d seen the power! He’d witnessed God’s hand of provision! He’d experienced the real – life impossible made possible. He knew, that he knew, that he knew His God was a dependable and an honest promise keeper. So, let’s you and I and we and us, remember we serve the same faithful God who is so trustworthy for the days ahead, in the hard places along the way.

Oh yeah, He’s faithful and when Timothy returned from Thessalonica with the good news that the church had not abandoned their faith because of dreadful opposition, but rather stood strong and continued in faith and love it was Good news to Paul’s ears and his first letter to the church in Thessalonica explodes with joy at such a confirmation. He closes off his letter in 1 Thessalonians 5:23, 24, with a blessing to believers confirming the promises of God. “Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until your Lord Jesus Christ comes again. God will make this happen, for He who calls you is faithful and He also will bring it to pass.”

Pray on beautiful soul for those things on your heart, and be thankful that we pray to a faithful God who hears, and keeps His word.

Smack Dab In The Middle

So the thing is this, what to do when inner self finds inner self smack-dab in the middle of where you don’t want to be? Right in the middle of hard places and no, you didn’t even choose it with bad choices, but it seems standing up for the good, and for the right placed you right there in the wrong. Where do you go with that? Where do you go when smack-dab in the middle of wrong is really the right place but the oh so difficult place for you to be? Mom, sometimes it’s you there on the bad end of kid’s choices, when standing up for the truth, puts you in the bad books! Worker, teacher, whoever you are sitting there in the wrong because of the right, you fill in the blanks of your life here in this uncomfortable place to be and beautiful soul, if it’s your spot for now, you gotta know, It’s the corner where our Lord refreshes, comforts, soothes and eases the tension and the pressure. It’s where He whispers out from under the weight of His cross and then shouts through the victory of the empty tomb, through the vastness of His love, grace and mercy, and in His own way, customized just for us, He reminds us to let Him take it. So you and I and we and us, Let’s let Him be all that we need for this. Allow Him to take it, manage it and perfect it. He’s got it so don’t fret your beautiful soul with its shenanigans and yeah, the thing is, in the big picture, remember the right side of the cross was so wrong in the hands of the angry mobs, but yet so perfect and so needed for the Father’s perfected work in the world and for the world.

Our Saviour who knew no sin, no wrong, yet suffered in its grip all for our sake, knew the hard place in life. He lived the right! He lived the Truth and took the beating and He took the wrong. So, you there, right there where you don’t want to be ~ when standing for the right and the good places you in the wrong don’t forget about the cross of Christ.

Yeah, He had the cross! He took the cross! He suffered the cross and all the stuff that went with it, and our Lord has this hard place for you and He’s perfecting that which concerns you. It takes time, because He does it so right and so well and so perfect and so timely, so let Him be all that for you for now. Let Him be that sweet peace and glorious rejuvenation in your tough corner for now. The Apostle Paul knew of His perfected and ongoing work in his own life when he penned the words in Philippians 1: 6, “For I am confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will continue to perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.”

“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch forth Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, And Your right hand will save me. The LORD will accomplish what concerns me; Your loving-kindness, O LORD, is everlasting; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.”
Psalm 138: 7, 8

“Faithful is He that calls you, who also will do it.”
1 Thessalonians 5:24

Beautifully Imperfect

So here we sit, you and I, in our imperfect world in our imperfect state and you gotta know that you are beautifully imperfect wherever you sit and the enemy’s attack on you and I and we and us, is far more about your future potential and what God is going to do with you, than your past failure! It’s not about who you’ve been, or what you’ve done, but in the enemy’s mind, it’s all about who you may become!! Oh yeah, he’s roaming to see who might be easy prey, so he can do what he can in his power to bring defeat into your thoughts. If he can get into your thinking pattern he’s well on his way. Don’t go there! Don’t let him catch you off guard without the spiritual armour in tact.

If you’ve been raised out of the pit of broken to a higher height and if God has brought you out of a hard time to bless you in your walk with Him, and lead you into challenging places of His work and ministry, then it’s a given that you are under the enemy’s surveillance camera! Spiritual armour is a must have in these days where we may be easily tracked to be set up for failure! You gotta know those same all-powerful, heavenly, sovereign arms that lifted you out of the mire to set you free, still have hold of you to pull you into and under the safety and shelter of divine protection! It’s a safe place here with the Saviour, where the enemy’s lies can’t reach you and his tricks can’t deceive you, and his half-truths can’t harm you.

Oh yeah, you beautiful one that you are, you are God’s child, loved by Him, protected by Him, and guarded by Him. Stay safe there for now, under His wings sheltered from the storm, the enemy and all that comes and goes. For now, find peace there until the outside chaos is hushed and the evil one has been silenced and leaves to let you be.

Free from his tricks for now, and It’ll just be for now and for a time, but it’s here with the Saviour, and our Redeemer that we gain new strength for the road and what’s ahead. Oh yeah, it’s not about your past at all, so let it go; freed and forgiven you are in Christ and now it’s about your future, your potential, your victory in Christ, that’s prime target for defeat, but as a child of God, You gotta know that you know that you know, that He has his stamp of approval all over you and your imperfections, and who you are in Him is awesome, and not anything can get in the way of His work, and His desire for you!

David knew His God was a God of Truth, his Refuge, his Fortress, his Rock, his Redeemer, and His Saviour and in Psalm 31 he voices it so beautifully, when he says, and ~ Say it with him, “In you O LORD, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame; deliver me in Your righteousness. Turn Your ear to me, come quickly to my rescue; be my rock of refuge, a strong fortress, for the sake of Your name lead and guide me. Free me from the trap that is set for me, for you are my refuge. Into Your hands I commit my spirit; redeem me, O LORD the God of Truth.
Psalm 31: 1-5

Put On Your Armour

Ephesians 6: 10 – 13.

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For we are not fighting against flesh and blood enemies but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand and after the battle you will still be standing firm.”.

If only we could realize, grasp and come to a full understanding that while in the heat of our battles our struggles with one another are not really with one another at all, but with the enemy himself in the unseen dimension of spiritual forces. In the middle of discouragements, anxieties, power struggles, deceptions, and all of our horrendous battles, it’s the old enemy, deceiver who has gained a foothold and is doing all in his power to bind us in our strongholds of selfishness, pride, resentment, bitterness, anger, strife and unforgiveness. He knows how to render us ineffective and will target us in our weakest moment and at our weakest point. We must be on guard, alert to his strategies, ready to take our stand and stand our ground against him. It’s so important to daily wrap ourselves in the full armour of God. To stand on God’s righteous Truth, grounded with peace, clothed and protected with the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and God’s all powerful Word; the sword of the Spirit. Notice, there is nothing for our back. A good indication that we are not to run from the problem, by protecting ourselves with lies or calling judgment upon others. Retaliation is the devil’s right hand man and what he uses to take us deeper into the pit of ruin! Rather than retaliation, we are called to simply stand firm in God’s confidence, trust Him, make the right choices, do the right things, and watch Him deliver us into victory.

“Christ out-witted the strategy of the Prince of the power of the air, milked the serpent of his venom, out-thought the thinkers, out-fought the fighters, outclassed the mighty and asserted His universal Lordship. Jesus Christ is Lord; Sovereign and omnipotent. Ruler and King of Kings.” I love it but I don’t know the writer.

Let’s raise the banner of God’s sovereign majesty and fly His victorious flag, high for all to see…His victory is our victory! Let’s claim it for our lives for it’s through His victory that our marriages become stronger, our homes become happier, our families become more stable, our children more secure, our churches more spiritually alive and personal lives more solidly grounded, more mature in the faith. Put on that full armor before you face your day, remember His faithfulness and His promises and step out under God’s banner of victory!

Psalm 91: 1, 2, 4a.
“Those who live in the shelter of the Most High, will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. He alone is my refuge, my place of safety. His faithful promises are your armor of protection..”
