The Cross Says It All

The Cross Says It AllSo yeah, March is on the move into it’s final week and as Easter approaches, it draws us closer to the cross in our thinking. Our hearts, though sad because of it, still rejoice in the glory of it! In the irony of it all, we find peace in it’s celebration! Yeah, that scandalous event in history where sinless, blood-shed mixed with love and mercy, met head-on with mobs of anger, hatred and ridicule! Let’s be thankful!! Thankful for the cross that says it all. Let’s be thankful to our one True God, who gave His Son to be our Saviour! Who gave all that He had to save a world that He cared for with a love so pure and so unconditional that it makes us blush with guilt over our failures. Oh, that He should care so much to give so much just to secure us an eternal position with Him in glory and to grace us with abundant life while living in this wretched, sin soiled world. Yeah, in our sin, we were a part of the hatred and ridicule unleashed on Christ that day! Yet He still cared! Cared enough to forgive the mobs that tortured, whipped, ridiculed and crucified that day and you know beautiful soul, He cares enough to forgive our trespasses against Him! Yeah, it’s beautiful isn’t it? That cross? That scandalous cross! That old, rugged cross, bearing the burden of guiltless death and a broken and beaten body of our sinless Saviour? Yeah, it’s beautiful for sure ~ for that cross of Christ made a way for us poor, weary wanderers to find grace in the eyes of a just God and find redemption through His shed blood.

Oh what wonder, what magnificent wonder meets us there, at that sad but beautiful cross, where justice and mercy meet! A place where all are welcomed equally, in spite of…. and where the ground is level in spite of… and the forgiveness is real in spite of….and where mercy awaits in spite of….

Today the Saviour’s call is for each one of us to bend our hearts in awe before the wonder of it all and only believe. The thief did, and there in that final moment before succumbing to death, he found eternal life with his Lord. The other thief, hung still in his pride and ridicule and entered into a Christless eternity. Which side of Christ are you on today, as we move closer to the celebration of His cross? He is true, He is righteous, and He has everything to offer. Forgiveness is our biggest need and we are so blessed when we receive it freely.

“Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; love and faithfulness go before You. Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim You, who walk in the light of Your presence, O Lord.” Psalm 89: 14, 15

Under A Million Stars

Some days it’s ok to not be perfect. Some times it’s ok to just grab a cup of tea or a second cup of coffee and curl up with a blanket and some happy thoughts and just know you’re in safe keeping under a God that loves you unconditionally under the light of a billion stars and in the glory light of the Cross! Oh yes, and it doesn’t matter your situation, He’s got that too! He knew way before you and He’s loving you through it and carrying you over it. So yeah, beautiful one, some days it’s just fine to be an imperfect soul basking in His grace, knowing His favor and resting in His safe keeping.

You ~ Beautiful And Lovely Even Still

Ahh, that unconditional love that God gives is a blessing isn’t it? Aren’t you so thankful for it on the days when you feel you’ve missed the mark and it really doesn’t matter what others think anyway, it’s really about how God sees you! Even though you feel tossed, wrecked and blown about in the winds of chaotic guilt storms ~ God sees you beautiful and lovely. Yes He does! He overlooks the mark we missed and covers us with ~ a miraculous and precious mercy so sweetened with amazing grace and forgiveness yet again! Why are we so reluctant to accept it? It’s always there to meet us and cover us even in our most down of down moments. It’s always there for the worries that took over, the doubts that crept in, the fear filled moments where faith didn’t surface ~ no ~ not even for a second, and where temptation was stronger than our self -discipline.

There are so many subtleties the enemy uses to set us up, catching us in the trap of guilt ~ making us believe the lie that we’re not good enough for any good at all~ especially for any good things that God has to offer. Yet, that’s exactly what God had in mind for His created people with His plan of salvation wrapped in awesome, unconditional love. Christ, The cross, the shed blood, the grave, the resurrection and the victory over death. It’s what He came for and It’s yours! It’s mine! It’s ours for the asking and receiving of it. Look to the cross ~ That scandalous event of Christ’s blood shed was for our salvation for this journey of our “now” life and “Life Everlasting” and it’s there for us, when we miss the marks along the way. Beautiful soul ~ Step into that peace!

John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever would believe on Him should not perish but have eternal life.”

1 Corinthians 1:18
“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”

We Can Still Trust Him

when we can't see past our doubtThere’s so much deception in our world today and truth is difficult to come by! So hard to decipher at times. Sometimes maybe it’s not really our lack of faith and trust in God that tugs at our heartstrings and leaves us feeling guilty but rather our lack of trust lies in those people that surround us; those, controlling our countries, our world, our world’s, and controlling those that don’t know Him or care to know Him. Somehow we have to trust a Sovereign God even for those who wander and walk away from the faith ~ yeah, to those He gives free choice and free will. Even through evil, He keeps them under His protection. Our prayers are our potent and powerful spiritual weapons of warfare in a world of deception and evil, when we can’t and don’t trust humanity to do the right thing or behave in the right way in this whacked out world! So, when we can’t see past our doubt, we can still trust our God to work out the details for those lost in ‘self’, arrogance and deception, and for a world caught up in deception ~ yeah ~ and some in violence! God has a plan for those! He has a purpose for those! He’s consistently working it out! His will and plan won’t be trumped by evil or thwarted by our feelings or fleeting moments of unbelief, so don’t succumb to the enemy’s lie that your moments of doubt make you “not good enough” to be a mighty warrior in this spiritual battle that’s so very real to the believer on a daily basis.

Hey heart, take heart and pray without ceasing even for those ~ Don’t give up ever, ever! Rejoice anyway! Even in the darkest moments of your soul….Rejoice! Don’t ever believe you’re not good enough to make a powerful difference! Don’t believe the lie that you can’t move the hand of God through your prayer. Prayer changes things ~ aren’t we thankful?

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
