Washed Up On Shore?

Little Thoughts For Big Days
Little Thoughts For Big Days

So your beautiful, empty shell hit bottom and washed up onto shore in one big heap of debris laced with garbage, tattered shells, and stringy sea weed? Remember ~ at times like these, it’s not the end! God creates beauty out of the dump and fashions brand new out of old and rotten. It’s all ok! Shed the tears if you must and gently pick the heart up out of the heap of unclear circumstances! Some things just have no answers but everything is always ok after all, if you turn it over to the One who can fix it seamlessly. Oh it won’t be the brand new that it used to be because some of it or maybe all of it is just gone ~ washed away for now ~ just because it had to be! Maybe hope crumbled in a heartbeat and that difficult part of new, had to leave so that the growth of spiritual maturity could be born. Growth? It’s always being born isn’t it? Oh yeah, life is so confusing! So chaotic at times and so full of riddles, so truly difficult to figure out. Ashes can be turned to beauty! Heaps of rubble into worthwhile! Lost souls into found and broken hearts into new creations! What? How? Why? When? Questions ravage the mind and the soul of us as we journey through our story and some things just don’t make any sense at all or have and answers. The best news of the day is that none of it has to! None of it is ours to repair or figure out or fix. So ~ let it go just one more time! We don’t have the control, or the authority or the know how to hang on to it. It’s only ours to give over to the Sovereign One who can!

Remember Saul? His lifestyle dramatically ended on his road to Damascus, when God caught up with him, blinded him with enlightenment and washed him up on the shoreline of his self – centered life. Can you imagine the day when Saul the persecutor and murderer of believers became Paul the evangelist doing all he could to bring lost souls into the Kingdom? Saul had to die first before he could be transformed. Only God can do that! Only God can perform such a transformation! So when you feel beaten up, blinded by overwhelming circumstances, washed up on the shoreline, and dragged through the debris of unfair events, take heart beautiful soul. All unhappy endings hold new beginnings with God’s plan and direction. Your spiritual growth is about to blossom. God is up to something. He’s about to do something brand new. So smile beautiful soul and broken heart and watch Him work His awesome, miraculous repair on your beautiful, broken shell.

Isaiah 43: 18, 19
“Do not call to mind the former things, Or ponder things of the past. “Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.

God Bless
