For the struggle you face and the battle ahead, remember God inhabits the praises of His people. It’s tough to give praise in the problem but our praise is an expression of faith and a declaration of victory. It will send the enemy running in defeat. Praise needs to be a lifestyle that we live out as consistently as we breathe. Remember how concerned Jehosaphat , King Of Judah, was when informed of the huge army coming against him? Did he panic? I’m sure he did, but he went to the Lord for counsel. He knew on their own they were useless and powerless. I love God’s answer, in 2 Chronicles 20: 15 – 17:  “….Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army.  For this battle is not yours, but God’s.   Tomorrow march down against them. You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you.” I love Jehoshaphat’s word to his people in 20:20:

“Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld…you will be successful.. He then appointed men to sing praise to God,  give thanks and praise Him for the splendour of His holiness.  Don’t you love what happened next….?

“Now when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah and they were defeated.”  2 Chronicles 20:22

 The enemies became so confused they turned on their own and as God promised, He was victorious in the battle on Judah’s behalf. Their praise was sure evidence of their faith..It’s tough to praise in the thick of the battle but keep praising anyway.  Let your faith arise as you live it out daily in your lifestyle.‪strong>

“Do not be afraid: do not be discouraged.  Go out to face them tomorrow and the Lord will be with you.”

Confused about where you should be and when, and just what it is that God has for you to do anyway? Do you wonder why He seems so slow and why answers don’t come quickly or maybe don’t come at all? At least not in black and white or simple and straight forward? Sometimes it seems like ten baby steps ahead and then five giant steps backwards. What on earth is going on? Why is life so difficult and moving forward so extremely painful?


Ho hum seasons are our calling as they lead us deeper into spiritual maturity! just keep moving faithfully, doing what you do to fulfil commitments and schedules. Make sure to rest to prevent burn out, but “rest assured” that God still leads in the giant steps backwards as well as the baby steps forward. He will fulfil His purpose in your life regardless of how useless and unimportant you feel. He refreshes parched souls and increases strength with His power. Everything you experience is customized just for your needs and He’ll make it work for you if you let Him. He may ultimately guide you through ten giant steps forward. Be refreshed and ready when He does.

“The Lord will guide you always and satisfy your needs in a sun scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.”
Isaiah 58:11

Making Your World “Go Round”

So, what’s on your “Go To” list? Those things that you think you can’t live without and the things that completely consume your thoughts, either in worry or pleasure? The things that you spend your money on and trick you into thinking their possession will satisfy your craving? The friends that allow you to fit like a glove and help you to blend in with the wallpaper regardless of their influence? The higher step on the ladder of success at all cost and maybe at someone else’s expense? All these things can make our world “Go Round” yet subtly consume our energy levels leaving us completely exhausted both physically and spiritually. When they become our passion they become our pride and our god! Remember pride comes before a fall so take care to stay balanced in all the good things of life. Practice the balancing act by beginning your day with God and letting Him in on your thoughts and plans. He already knows what they are so let Him help you with that. Be challenged to go deeper with Him in your faith walk! Give it all over and find that precious peace that results in letting go!

Exodus 20:1-26

Weary traveler, Don’t succumb to downcast feelings! “This is the day the Lord has made. Rejoice and be glad in it.”Psalm 118:24.

Get rid of the poisonous, bitter root of unbelief that pulls you down and spreads to others. Find rest for your soul and heaviness of heart in the promises of God! Immerse yourself in His grace and find hope in His great faithfulness from beginning to end!!  Allow Him to perfect your imperfections and strengthen your weaknesses with His great victory. He secures your timid and unsure feet on the straight path and holds you up lest you fall! Encourage one another in their journey of faith and be blessed!

Hebrews 12: 12 -15

So take a new grip with your tired hands and stand firm on your shaky legs. Mark out a straight path for your feet. Then those who follow you, though they are weak and lame, will not stumble and fall but will become strong. Try to live in peace with everyone, and seek to live a clean and holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord. Look after each other so that none of you will miss out on the special favor of God. Watch out that no bitter root of unbelief rises up among you, for whenever it springs up, many are corrupted by its poison.”
