Trapped and imprisoned yet on the Run to nowhere! So you’ve been there have you? Thrust into the utter depths of ruin and despair for no other reason other than a selfish rebellion that robbed you of your better life, that you once knew? That rebel in you, that you gave consent to, took you to the dead-end of the road and left you beaten at the edge of the cliff and stricken with massive loss! Now you sit in a heaps of stinking garbage and life is so heavy with a heart that’s heavier still!! It’s terrible and the loss has been incredible and so not worth it, but it’s too late to change the fact that it happened, for it surely did and it happened to you. Oh how could rebel ‘Self’ get you into this fix? Hanging over this sharp, dangling edge of abyss, where the darkness is darker than it’s ever been before, where nothing makes any sense any more? Guilt, anger, depression, and all the emotions that come to take over and take you down farther still, all have to have their day with you, and when you try to fight them off you find your fight is weak because your strength has been zapped, and it’s just Way easier to give in to that power that undermines you, than to stay strong! The ‘rebel’ in you seems stronger and just easier to succumb to than your will power and self-discipline to begin to dig out.
And… You wonder, where does it all end? How do I make a comeback and re-surface to the top? Will I ever re-surface? Will I ever again see the light at the end of the tunnel, or is gone forever fallen into that dark abyss that stares at me in the face? oh selfish ‘self’ what have you done?

Anyone who goes the way of the prodigal, turning a deaf ear to God, in order to find greener pastures in the life they imagine, only finds it to be a self-destructive dream! A dream that quickly accelerates into a nightmare of no escape, where consequences of actions are frightening and difficult to overcome! Maybe you know of a prodigal or live with one and are all too aware of the heartbreak to watch one, where it seems easier to spiral downward than to fight the current and rise up again. One can’t do it alone. Oh Yeah ~ the enemy’s grip is too tight and his web of deceit too binding. His bondage too strong ~ too tough! He lies to your face while he knocks you down and tramples on you while you’re there. Let’s just say he’s not your best friend. Never was! Never will be! Let Him go! But there is no help for the “rebel” you unless you hear God’s words of redemption and seek His face, divine wisdom and His healing counsel.
Psalm 107: 4, 5, 6, 9
“Some wandered in desert wastelands, finding no way to a city where they could settle;
They were hungry and thirsty and their lives ebbed away.
Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble and He delivered them from their distress…
He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.”
Psalm 107: 10, 11, 12, 13, 14
“Some sat in darkness and the deepest gloom, prisoners suffering in iron chains,
for they had rebelled against the words of God and despised the council of the Most High.
So He subjected them to bitter labor; they stumbled and there was no one to help.
Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble and He brought them out of their darkness and deepest gloom
and broke away their chains.”
Psalm 107: 17, 19, 20
“Some became fools through their own rebellious ways and suffered affliction through their iniquities…
They cried to the Lord in their trouble and He saved them from their distress. He sent forth His word and He healed them;
He rescued them from the grave.”
Psalm 107: 8, 15, 21
“Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for men.”
