Peace For The Road

So there might be a whole lot fear heaped up ahead on the road you travel right now and panic might be driving the motor car and it’s reeling out of chaotic control, heading right to your doorstep. And there it sits heavy on your shoulders, smack dab in the middle of that heap of fear! It’s got you pinned underneath it’s weight and yeah, the old saying that “No news is good news” is really true after all, because just maybe you got news and it wasn’t good! No news was better wasn’t it? And it’s processing in our heads and our hearts right now and it’s a difficult place with hard steps and I wonder what it is it that has caused panic and fear to emerge with such force to make you want to throw in the towel and run fast in the other direction?

We can’t do it! We can’t run away! We can’t run anywhere and as matter of fact we can’t even walk away because our story is our story and it’s us and it’s ours to deal with. So we can’t make a get-a-way except straight into the outstretched arms of Jesus and step into His peace, even right where we are! You gotta know He’s got this. Your stuff has been Father filtered and even though it’s tough, it has His stamp of approval for this moment, and even though it’s a hard place, He has it and He has your back and He has unlimited grace enough to get you through. So beautiful soul, when the brokenness is harsh and the news is bleak and the pain is unbearable, and the mind can’t focus, rest gently in the nail pierced hands of the Savior, the Sovereign One who knows the pain. Yeah, for sure the One who spoke peace into the vicious storms and calmed the raging waters can and will whisper peace into your panic.

Mark 4: 38 – 40
“Jesus Himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” And He got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Hush, be still.” And the wind died down and it became perfectly calm. And He said to them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?”…

John 14: 27
“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

The Peace We Seek

Shalom and PEACE to you today! A generous gifting from our Lord to us. Yeah, Jesus, Our Prince of Peace came to share it with us. His sweet peace is not as the world gives but it’s a sense of well being within ourselves. It comes from our willingness to change and repent and do a turn about of direction. To walk with Him in His salvation and in His ways of abundance. It comes from our trust in our Prince of Peace, the sweet Savior of the broken and hurting and those beaten and scarred and torn up by sin’s choices.

“Shalom” may His favor rest on you today as you seek Him and find healing in Him for such a time as this.

The LORD bless you, and keep you; The LORD make His face shine on you, And be gracious to you; The LORD lift up His countenance on you, And give you peace.’” – Numbers 6:23-26

Prince Of Peace

So, here we are a week before Advent celebration begins and there you are in your journey of anything but peace today! Well, know this for real!  Know for real, that a child was born to be called The Prince Of Peace! To bring peace into the hearts of those who would make room for Him in their concerns, in their hearts, in their lives, in their issues, in their disappointments, in their mourning, in their rejections, in their failures, in their bitterness and in all the things that just so desperately need quieting at this Advent season. He’s the Wonderful Counselor, who conforms to God’s wisdom and can advise like no other one of wisdom can. He’s the Mighty God affirming His divine nature and supernatural power is close by and within our reach and within our next breath. Call on Him. He’s the Everlasting Father, faithful throughout all generations, from the manger to the cross and into the heavens and right back into the heart and soul of those who love Him. He loves to the moon and back and all the places in between, regardless of who you are and what you’ve done. His love is unconditional. He won’t leave nor forsake, for His name is Everlasting Father. Yeah, so….He came in Peace but the world rejected Him. Go figure! Hearts today still do. Go figure! To reject Him is to reject His Peace so needed for this journey of anything but peace.

Prepare the way for our Peace Giver this Advent season and open the door! Let Him in! Let Him reign! Let Him usher in the Peace that He’s all about. ❤ Advent season? It’s all about Him and His gifts to us.

His Sweet Spirit In Us

John 4: 24.

“For God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”.

John 4: 21- 24.
“Jesus answered the Samaritan woman at the well, “Believe me dear woman, the time is coming when it will no longer matter whether you worship the Father on this mountain or in Jerusalem. You Samaritans know very little about the One you worship, while we Jews know all about Him, for salvation comes through the Jews. But the time is coming, indeed it’s here now, when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship Him in that way. For God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”.
John 4: 21- 24.

“In spirit and truth” is a difficult concept to grasp. It may help to think of a woman, who is mom, a wife, and a teacher. She is one person capable of functioning in many ways. Or a man, who carries out the role of a father, a husband and a breadwinner wears many hats in order to keep a family running smoothly. On a much deeper level, in the spiritual realm and in a much more awesome way, God is Truth and He is also Spirit. Jesus goes into detail on the subject, in John Chapter 13, where He washes the disciples feet, and predicts Judas’s betrayal into the hands of the enemy. Christ’s words in Chapter 14 are words of comfort to distraught, confused disciples who just didn’t understand the strange events that were taking place and what was happening. They had many questions and in John 14: 25 – 29, Jesus speaks to them… “These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. You have heard Me say to you, ‘I am going away and coming back to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said, ‘I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I. “And now I have told you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe.”

A comforting promise was given by Christ before His death and resurrection. Then. at His final farewell before He ascended into Heaven…He assured believers that they wouldn’t be left alone and when He was gone, they would not be spiritual orphans, but that His Father would send a helper and a comforter in the Holy Spirit to teach and guide His people in truth instilling a peace within their souls.

That part of God that is His Spirit, is His sweet, Holy Spirit, present always, in the believer’s life and since the Spirit of God dwells within, location for worship doesn’t matter. It’s not in the place, it’s in the heart, soul and mind of the believer, where Christ takes up residence because His Spirit surrounds us, maintaining God’s Spirit in the World around us, and sustaining us with His presence.

God is Spirit, and God is Truth and in Him they become one for us, much like a mom is mom and nursemaid for her child. As we enter into a holy worship before the Lord, His spirit that dwells within us communicates with us revealing His Truth and His reality! We don’t have to see Him with our eyes, or hear Him with our ears. No a relationship with Christ goes much deeper than the physical element and our five senses. It goes spiritually deep into a sense that He has saved me, redeemed me and keeps me. It’s a knowledge that all is well with my soul because Christ lives within, maintaining and sustaining. What a delight and a privilege then, to come before Him in humbleness of heart to offer ourselves as a fragrant offering of worship to this Sovereign God who holds us in the palm of His hand.
