Embracing Faith’s Victory

So, friends, if we don’t know there’s more to life than this scary, questionable one in which we presently live, we’ll find ourselves running fearful, paranoid, and empty! Ah, but the Bible tells us that the Hope of Heaven in the soul of us will give us reason to keep on keeping on, running the race fervently, persevering to the finish line even in the hard places, the challenging places, and the desolate places.

Truth is, our eyes and hearts tuned in and turned on to the heavenly realm, for sure, give us reason to rise to the challenge of what’s ahead, although none of us really know what that is as rumor has it this way and that!

Friends, there truly is a sweet hope in this present, desolate place of earth’s shallow emptiness! Contrary to popular belief, there is a real reason to keep moving ahead, one faith step ahead of the other, as we look down the barrel of so much unrest and turmoil.

Truly, God is still on the throne, on the move, still in charge, and still working it all out, just as prophesied in His Living Word! Turns out, this present world is really nothing as it pales in comparison to what amazing things lie ahead for those who love Him. The amazing things in store for us are not of this world but of His heavenly world and the eternal home that awaits us when this old earth takes a tumble off the edge of what it is and becomes what it’s to become.

So Paul writes in 1 Corinthians, 1:18

“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness, but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”

He’s so right you know! The cross can seem like foolishness to those who don’t know it or believe it, but in these days friends, it is our only salvation for the unfolding prophecy that lies ahead. New strange developments are happening daily and taking the world down a path of clear destruction! A path that invites us to go along to stay safe, but we won’t succumb to its fear-mongering tactics, because if we know the Christ of the cross, we know the winner of the game. So, instead, we take heart, find hope, and get on board with the Victor of this challenging struggle!

He’s got this turmoil and chaos and as hard as it is on us, we can know He’s got both it and ‘His’ people in His healing hand of blessing! He’s sizing it up, working it out, and lining it up, for those who follow Him and when it’s all said and done, and being really honest here, who doesn’t want to be on the winning side? So, hey, you today, Grab the victory shirt and join the victory team! Let’s stay together as we watch the news unfold. It’s not frightening when Heaven is our goal! It just moves us that much closer!

1 Corinthians 1:18

“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness, but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”

2 Corinthians 6: 2

“For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”

Renewed and Refilled

So when you’re washed up on shore in a heap of debris and broken shell, and when there’s nothing left but empty, you’re still sitting in God’s grace ’cause His grace runs on empty!

He gives something for nothing all the time, and when we’re so undeserving of even that next breath, He makes it happen just because He’s God and just because He’s all about you. His love is lavish and His mercy extensive, and it’s all over you in that heap of brokenness. So, when there’s nowhere to go….where to from here?

A good choice is right into His arms of protection! Ask Him to fix it and guide you in your next thought, your next choice, and your next step, and know that it’s all ok ~ it’s alright to be empty and broken ’cause that’s where we can be repaired and refilled and recycled for His glory.

You ~ broken, beautiful you, are right where He wants you. So begin today to reprogram with the One who made you. Oh, there might be loss in the healing and restoring process but growing closer to God through it all is our greater fortune! Rest for now in His healing presence and trust Him to fix it…

Job 42:10

“And the Lord restored the fortunes of Job when he had prayed for his friends. And the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.”

Hosea 6:1

“Come, let us return to the Lord; for he has torn us, that he may heal us; he has struck us down, and he will bind us up.”

Jeremiah 32:27

“Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?

The Sky Is Falling

“The sky is falling, The sky is falling!” You’ve heard it haven’t you? A short phrase from an old, childhood fable! I’m sure you’re familiar with the age-old ‘kid’ story of Henny Penny when the acorn fell on her head? Oh my goodness, gracious, she was sure the sky was falling and quickly started off to let the King know of such a disaster about to happen! Along the way, she met up with friends and Ducky Lucky, Goosy Poosy, and Turkey Lurky all wished to join in on the journey to tell the King. It all went very well until, along the way, they met up with a friend who was not really a friend at all. Foxy Loxy, was a sly guy, out for himself, who told them were going the wrong direction, then deceivingly led them off down a garden path, right into his den where they never were seen again. Some variations say that Henny Penny heard the rooster crow and escaped and quickly ran off since it was time to lay her morning egg. It’s a simple fable, for children’s ears, that quickly became a bedtime favourite for me and had long been forgotten in the recesses of my mind. The other day as I sat contemplating the present situation of disaster sitting on our doorsteps, Henny Penny’s words, “The Sky is Falling,” came to mind. With the COVID-19 pandemic hitting us hard between the eyes, it’s left the globe reeling in chaos! Thing is, it’s not a silly fable of an acorn hitting anyone on the head, but rather, it’s a dreadful reality in our very real day to day world, where a world we once knew as friendly, has become like a ferocious lion, turning on us, seeking whom it may devour, as it feels like the sky falls and crumbles in dreadful disorder at our feet, taking life with it.

Yeah, we might truly feel, at such a time as this, the sky is falling with imminent disaster but what on the face of this virus-infested earth are we to do about it? Turns out there’s nothing we can do, except be heroes in our homes to keep others well. I get it that, we may have our own trauma, inside our COVID-19, social distancing, walls with many things churning in our minds. Close quarters, sometimes too close for comfort! Fear of death, safety for our kids and our families coupled with financial pressure, health issues, family struggles, and emotional upheaval, where just coping and keeping our heads above water is hard. There may be many voices to hear and many thoughts to control. Some voices will convey fear, others panic! Other confused voices might lead us off track making us feel completely helpless and hopeless in it all and lure us into a den of temptation, despair and eventually defeat.

Thing is, beautiful ones, we have a King too; a sovereign King who isn’t surprised by any of this. Turns out, He really knows the end from the beginning of this story and in His Sovereignty, He still remains in charge, no matter how it appears! No matter how much each day is more of the same bad news, we’ve got to know He’s got this thing that man has no control over. So let’s just trust Him for all of our cares and keep building our ark! Make it strong by standing on a firm and solid faith in the One who speaks peace into the eye of the storm. Gather in your sweet promises from a God who honours His Word and has our best interest at heart. Tuck them into your back pocket, secure them safely in your heart and inhale them deeply into the soul of you. Build it high and build it wide and seal it with a hedge of protective prayer, for your families! Don’t let down your guard not even for a minute to follow deceptive voices and sly foxy loxies into a den of despair and defeat. Paul urges the persecuted church, and us today to be filled with joy anyway, because our happiness isn’t dependant on our circumstances, but solely on our relationship with the Lord and is resilient even in the midst of suffering and death. Our joy comes from simply knowing that whatever happens, God will use it for the ultimate good. In chapter 4: 6 -9

Philippians 4: 6, 9

Don’t worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

The Faith ~ Grace Journey

Little Thoughts For Big Days
Little Thoughts For Big Days

Sometimes we just try too hard to do it right in this life ~ to make the mark and to succeed before God. God says we don’t have to do that! It’s not about the good we do or the bad we don’t do! We don’t have to try so hard because it isn’t about us and how good or bad we’ve been, but rather how can we glorify God in our living “now” before Him! “Living For Him is evidence of our “Faith in Him”! It’s about His grace covering us when we don’t. Has His forgiveness made a difference in your life? Have you met Him at the cross, where mercy and justice meet? Have you taken care of that crucial request and that awesome opportunity for the good of your own soul? Have you believed His words and accepted His Salvation plan for your life? That’s your beginning! From there it’s a journey onward; the ‘journey’ into spiritual maturity of renewed heart and mind only begin at the moment of salvation! It’s not an instant growth pattern and it’s not the same for everyone. It takes time for the baggage to drop and Growth to happen and God’s grace is there to cover the slip ups, the baggage that we hang on to and the missed marks that we don’t have to strive for. We can never make up for all of those and He knows that! Our success is measured not by what we do or don’t do, but by allowing God’s grace to cover the faults as we persevere in this
“Faith” / “Grace” journey … Even when… Even if… Even though… ♥ ♥ ♥

Ephesians 2:8-9

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
