Proverbs 31: 25 – 30
She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all."Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

Have A Beautiful Day

Serendipitous

Little Thoughts For Big Days
Little Thoughts For Big Days

So we’re facing a new day!  What’s on your plate as you anticipate the moments? One thing we can be assured of is that God’s grace will be there in those moments, even before they reach us. Reflect on the awesomeness of it as they come and don’t miss the blessing that might be tucked under some difficulty. That’s where they hide you know ~ in the hard times! Those are the places where we meet miracles head on because miracles come out of the impossible and yet we sometimes fail to see them for what they are because we’re too focused on the trouble. Sometimes we take them out of context and just call them coincidence because we don’t think about God being there. Well, He’s there in your tough places and He makes things new. What glorious hope lies in that thought! In your next moment, expect a miracle with a grateful heart and you might be surprised at the little serendipitous that dot your day!

Isaiah 43:19
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Restoring Brokenness

Joel 2: 21, 22

“Don’t be afraid my people. Be glad now and rejoice for the Lord has done great things. Don’t be afraid you animals of the field for the pastures will soon be green. The trees will again be filled with fruit. Fig trees and grapevines will be loaded down once more. Rejoice you people of Jerusalem! Rejoice in the Lord your God! For the rain He sends demonstrates His faithfulness.”

Joel prophesied in a time of significant drought and locust infestation in the land of Judah. The book of Joel describes God’s judgment in the land and the terrible desolation by the locusts and lack of rain, emblematic of the inner sickness eating away at the hearts of the people. It is a serious call for the people to repent seeking God’s mercy. Joel 2: 18 -20 is God’s promise to them for restoration and refreshment if they would only seek Him with their whole heart and turn to Him for guidance.

When disaster strikes, we can respond in one of two ways. We can turn to God and enter into a new relationship with Him as our leader or we turn away from Him blaming Him or others for our plight. Some might even deny God’ s existence. The people of ancient Israel experienced disaster and were faced with this same decision. Would they turn away from God in their time of disaster or turn to Him to seek His blessing?

What about you? Have overwhelming cares invaded your life and taken over? What has robbed you of joy? What have you lost? What gnaws away at your inner being, your soul? Do you sit in devastation surrounded by a parched land of hopelessness? God is the source of all life-giving rain! The One who promises to send the rains of righteousness to refresh thirsty souls.

To the people who faced disaster Joel brought forth the message that their God was fully in control of the future. Even though Judah’s future seemed in grave doubt and with signs of plague and drought threatening it’s very existence, Joel concluded His message with the divine assurance that Judah and Jerusalem would endure through all generations.

Though we will suffer loss in this life and face many difficulties, God can and does restore the years the locusts have stolen. God is the giver of restoration and fulfillment in life through our sincere seeking of Him and true repentance! His promise to us is a complete package of forgiveness and restoration, through His salvation plan. Our role? To come to Him without compromise, seeking His face for divine direction and then to celebrate life watching God, the creator of life weave golden threads through shambles, bless, repair and restore to make beauty out of ashes and grace moments out of torment.

Blessings for this day

Prospering In Righteousness,

Psalm 1: 1 & 2

” Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night…. They are like trees planted along the river bank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither and they prosper in all they do.” Psalm 1: 1 – 3

To take delight in God’s righteousness is to be blessed indeed. We must allow God’s precepts and commandments to dominate our lives day and night, so much so, that they shape our character into Christ likeness, bringing life to it’s fullest measure and abundance. To successfully strive to reach this “height” of Christian maturity our “roots” must go deep with Him into His Word in order to secure that our “life foundation” is stable; planted firmly and grounded solidly in Him, allowing the nutrients of His living water to consistently refresh our soul. A steady supply of His refreshment, nourishing the soul day and night, through the wilderness, the deserts, the loneliness and the darkness, as well as the good times will insure that we won’t give up when the going gets tough, but rather continue to gain strength so that our spiritual growth and richness will be evidenced by spiritual fruit. I love the promise given in Verse 6 “The Lord watches over the way of the righteous.”

What a picture of the blessed, meditating on God’s Word! Yes, Blessed is the man who delights in the law of the Lord
