Valentines Of Love

So what if today, in this month of hearts and roses, we could see all the promises of God, as valentines of love, spilling out from His vast abundance into our empty hands and hearts?

What if we could just catch them like light, falling stars and see the reality of them in the palms of our hands and depths of our souls? What if we could just grasp the reality of the promise that He who promised is faithful, both now and forever? What if we could do that and just look up into the heavens to see the sweetness of His faithfulness just falling upon us, surrounding us and sustaining us?

The writer of Hebrews exhorts us to faithfulness when in 10: 23 he pens the words,

“Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.”

So just maybe, as we step out today, in any way the shut down would allow, we could be challenged to hold on firmly to the hope of our hearts; that huge hope that transforms life because Christ’s death and resurrection effectively help us win a right relationship with God through salvation and forgiveness, so that every day of our lives, He is all we need to get through!

So many promises follow a saved soul, don’t they? Promises of unconditional love, protection, care, provision, vindication, strength, courage, help, preservation, healing, joy, peace, goodness, and blessing in abundance. Yeah, there are hard places where rough spots pursue, but we are winners in this race and as we look around we see those blessings keep spilling out and falling into our corners and we are blessed with so many of them!

We can know that He who promised is faithful all the time in every way. So, right now, look up and catch those hearts of love and promise, straight from the hands of the Father to you. Catch them! Grasp them! Hold them tight! Stand firmly on them and don’t waver then make every effort to share them, motivating and encouraging one another along! ❤❤❤

Be Still

Yeah, I get that it’s a hard day of just plain nothing but “All gone wrong” and everything seems so misshapen and outta sorts.

Where’s the joy when the world’s in a mess and your world follows close behind in its messed up footsteps? The joy you knew yesterday took a dive into the deep and it kinda seems like it’s gone forever.

Here in this dreadful “now” moment, you’re emptied of even emotion and the pain of the heart can’t feel the hurt anymore because it’s just too weary to feel anymore. Where do you go when worries have numbed your spirit and hung your soul out to dry? Where is your refuge when your world hangs by a thread, and the thing you feared most has taken its position up front and center?

The Psalmist in Psalm 46 tells us, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.”

Beautiful soul, when all is lost, the Psalmist goes on to bring words of hope to the reader,

“There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the Holy Place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at the break of day…Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Life happens! It’s just a long time to hold it all together, isn’t it? To do it right? To make it work? But there is comfort for your crumpled spirit and your misshapen world. If you make our Sovereign God your fortress, He’s in charge and He will be exalted in your situation and in your circumstances if you rest “Still” in Him and know that He is sovereign overall. Rest then today ~ right now ~ you who are broken, and in your brokenness just be still in Him.

“Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Psalm 46:10

The Kindness Club

What if the whole world just had a whole lot of mercy to give for the whole lot of us? What if it could be just one big mercy-giving party down here; something like an ongoing kindness club and every one of us just had so much of it to give away that we made the world a more beautiful and better place?

Just think if we could give without wanting an award! What if we could just take a lesson from the divine Mercy Maker who just hands tender compassion out daily to the lot of us?

Just think of compassionate people giving compassion to people every day the same beautiful way our Lord gives it.

Today we get to serve a faithful God whose faithfulness is so great and whose mercies go so deep into the heart of us, in a never-ending way, every day of our lives ❤ !! We are so blessed with His mercy! Let’s bless others with kindness ❤

Focus On Truth

Forty years of wilderness wandering plagued the Israelites because they listened to the report of ten spies instead of God’s promise to give them the promised land. They had experienced God’s miraculous works for their deliverance, yet still, rather than believing God’s promise and facing their enemies with faith, they were caught up in human deception and discouragement.

The giants occupying their land were huge and the enemies were strong, the challenge too dangerous, the risk too great. They refused to move out and take possession for fear of their lives. They wept and wailed through their night with bitterness! They complained and grumbled about their plight! Why did we leave Egypt? We’ll die in this forlorn land! Shouldn’t we just go back? Wouldn’t it be better? Be safer? Wouldn’t it just be easier back in captivity?

Those unfaithful, unbelieving, grumbling Israelites twenty years and older never made it into the land of promise because God saw to it that their unbelief would not be honoured.

Oh, the wilderness wanderings we face when we focus on deception rather than truth. When we focus on the giants instead of the promises; when we rebel instead of trust! You know it don’t you? The wilderness of rebellion, unbelief, deception and despair? Does your old slavery and bondage to sin just seem more comfortable, easier and safer than trusting God for deliverance?

We need to move on out and take what God has promised through trust, while He still gives opportunity. Courage is found when we take God at His word and trust Him even though the giants are many and the tasks impossible. I wonder who we hear? The reports of people or the Lord’s promises to us.

1 Corinthians 10:11

“For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.”
