How does this day begin for you? With a brokenheart, tainted with disappointment because all that you’ve believed for and trusted for has once again been shattered and not only left you crushed but robbed you of any confidence that you might have had left?   The enemy wants nothing more than for you to feel defeated helpless and hopeless! He’ll grind you into the ground if you succumb to his lies.   Don’t go there, rather say with the Psalmist, “But you, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head.” Psalm 3:3


Good therapy?  Sing a new song, even if it’s difficult to sing…just begin and feel the joy resurface and the trust slowly return, for yet again another day on this journey.  Friends, It’s how we keep preserving in the faith and coming out on top!

Psalm 28:7

So…You’re apprehensive about today for one reason or another? Anxiety twists,tugs and nags at your heart until it feels like it might tear in two leaving a very vulnerable, frazzled edge, opened up for only more pain to enter. Where does it end? Where does one get relief from the exhaustion and hopelessness of it all? Friends, Christ gives us a clear-cut answer and stands ready to take your weighted load, carry it for you and smooth the frazzled threads. Let Him heal you of your anxiety! Work with Him on it and allow Him to work it out for you.

Matthew 11: 28 – 29:
“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.…”

Courage For The Promise

So if God has given you a promise why are you discouraged and down in the dumps? He can not lie and He can not break a promise. He will see it through one way or another. If your prayer didn’t receive an answer this week, hang on it may come next week or in two weeks and perhaps you may not put it together when it happens because the answer will be so subtle and the enemy will want you to think it’s just co-incidence. Be on guard for his deception and don’t succumb to his defeat. Remain courageous in God’s victory and remember His promise to Joshua.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9

Courage rather than discouragement will bring us into the promises of God.

I chose this picture because it’s a bit blurry and depicts our life when we can’t forgive. An unforgiving spirit takes our life out of focus and concentration becomes difficult, as we think of no one but ourselves. Our pity parties don’t do us any good and we become our own worst enemy as we go into hiding, dodging bullets and seeking revenge! Consequently we become ruined and destroyed creatures and we have no one to blame but ourselves because of our over reactions. The irony of it all is that our accuser or offender doesn’t seem to care, which only adds fuel to the fire of revenge.

Friends, forgive the hurt by accepting it, taking the loss for it, giving grace and moving on as you begin to focus once again on life and the beauty of it that surrounds you. Enjoy life without the offender’s control over you.

Ephesians 4:31-32
“Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.(attitude: loving and forgiving just like God forgave you)”
