Little Thoughts For Big Days
So breathe in the sweet morning air delicately laced with the scent of honeysuckle and ponder the miracle that it truly is. Life and breath for the moment ~ and that’s truly a miracle. Let go of the worries, the anxieties and the unpleasant circumstances. Forgive the hurt, the wrong, the unfair offense, the unkind word and the obnoxious ridicule. It’s all ok! Even in the darkest moments it’s all ok! Nothing can take the joy of the Lord from you unless you give it permission. Instead of dwelling on the negatives, savor the blessings. Seek them out, look for them and savor those genuine moments of miracles and grace that are there just for you ~ just for now! God’s mercies are new every morning
Lamentations 3: 22-23
“It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
We’re so needy aren’t we? So needy for that sweet grace that surrounds us and yet we’re so oblivious to! Take a deep breath ~ it’s there in the air! Oh it might be polluted air because of man’s hand in it all but even in that messed up and un-pure air there is grace ‘cuz without it, taking that life-giving breath wouldn’t happen! Yet we’re so unaware of it aren’t we? Why would we think about it? Doesn’t it just go hand in hand with life itself ~ so daily ~ so always there? Yes, and we in our busy schedules don’t think about the mechanics of it all or how it works, we just live our life and take it so for granted! God’s grace is like that ~ so always there for our undeserving selves. It’s continually lavished on us moment by moment and yet we pull the wool over our spiritual eyes and fail to see it clearly for what it is. Full – out Grace somehow gets drowned out by the noise of our complaining, critical spirits. It’s always there for us, yet our appreciation for it gets left in the dust of our busy lives and in the pressure of our deadlines! God’s Grace Will Find You, wherever you are.
Ah ~ yes, beautiful soul ~ today, just take time to breath in the sweet grace of God’s beautiful surroundings, where the blessings lie hidden for the soul eyes of the faithful and those who walk in obedience, hearing the voice of God in their journey. It might well be a rough journey for you now but ~ if you just took a breath, grace is there for you and it’s in not just in the air but in all the little things of your world. Take time out to ponder it, appreciate it and be thankful for it. Soak in God’s grace today! Saturate your day with it and find joy in the moment ~ yes ~ even in this moment!
Acts 17:28
“For in Him we live and move and have our being.
“There is nothing but God’s grace. We walk upon it; we breathe it; we live and die by it; it makes the nails and axles of the universe.” — Robert Louis Stevenson
So for today don’t hide behind your fear of failure. Face the challenges as they come and ~ they will come! You can be sure of that. They’ll come in all shapes and sizes, the big and little giants ~ and look you in the eye and defy you but if you walk with the God who’s in control, you walk in His victory because He’s already won and that’s a win, win situation. So beautiful soul ~ don’t succumb to the lie that our enemy would have us believe! You’re not inferior! You’re not defeated! You’re not going down as a failure because persevering in the faith is to hold fast to our ‘Hope in Christ’ through all the challenges! All the difficulties ~ all things that come our way! Great or small He’s got it all and so we move out in confidence to face that giant and little by little watch it fall before our eyes and before the Sovereign One ~ the giver of life and the One who wears the Victor’s crown. He’s got this! In obedience just trust Him!
Deuteronomy 21: 1
“When you go to war against your enemies and see horses and chariots and an army greater than yours, do not be afraid of them, because the LORD your God, who brought you up out of Egypt, will be with you.”
Deuteronomy 21: 3,4
“He shall say: “Hear, O Israel, today you are going into battle against your enemies. Do not be faint-hearted or afraid; do not be terrified or give way to panic before them. For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.”
Little Thoughts For Big Days
Bad Habits? Got any? They can take you down roads of calamity and ruin! I’m sure we could all pull out a string of many colors from our pocket if we consider things like worry, fear, envious and negative thoughts, etc, etc. Just bad habits, but sin, nevertheless! Things that could could so easily be dismissed by saying “It’s just the way I am.”
Habits are good if used to serve others, bad if used to serve ‘self’. They’re born out of selfishness and once established they become a very difficult thing to break free from. God knows it and out of His divine, unconditional love for us, doesn’t expect perfection from His children, anymore than we expect perfection from ours. He is understanding of our heart and sees deeply into the motive. He knows our character and our heart’s desire to truly please Him and in His compassion wants to free us from the bondage of guilt, even when we fail. When we fall into sin, He grants grace and forgiveness every time we ask. When we come yet again, as a whipped puppy before Him, it’s like He holds a record card in His hand with a blank page and every single time He says, “I see no record of your wrong. Go and sin no more!! John 8: 10, 11 “Straightening up, Jesus said to her, “Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “I do not condemn you, either. Go. From now on sin no more.” Only Christ indwelling us can free us from the selfish sin and bad habits that enslave us.
For the journey, His grace and favor are vast and abundant enough to keep us walking in His light and Truth in spite of bad habits. With God’s help we keep pressing on towards the goal, in the knowledge of the Righteousness of Christ, forgetting those things which are behind as Paul recorded in Philippians 3: 13 – 15 from his prison cell…
“Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, have this attitude; and if in anything you have a different attitude, God will reveal that also to you;…”
