Serendipity

Luke 2:11-14

“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom His favor rests.”

Isn’t it amazing how prophecy of the Messiah, fell into place through the seemingly normal order of things? God had a plan for our redemption and He worked that plan, through the divine supernatural as well as the “normal” events. Even though Mary’s pregnancy and the birth of Christ certainly didn’t follow human protocol, the payment of taxes was mandatory calling this couple on a journey to Bethlehem at a crucial time. At “Just the right time!”

God has a plan for all of His children, as He graces us with His divine intervention leading us along our normal daily routines to ultimately bring us to the place where He desires us to be. He brought serendipity into the lives of Mary and Joseph and into the Shepherd’s night that lonely night on the hillside. God dipped into the normal and the mundane and brought something beautiful into the world. He brought life through the birth of His Son, so that we could have a part in His beautiful plan of salvation. Mary and Joseph were faithful to follow His leading and direction through the supernatural, the normal, the tough spots and the rough roads. The shepherds abiding in their normal fields on a normal night were blown away with the glorious surprise that broke through the heavens and filled them with a desire, an awe and a joy that drove them to find the Christ that had come!

Are you still searching for Him or have you found Him? Let’s be obedient on our journey, even in the mundane, and in the ho hums of our lives. Let’s be found faithful in the excitement of the supernatural as well as in the difficulties and mundane of “normal.” Friends, if you truly know Him, be on the look out as God may very well be planning serendipity in your life. He can break through the normal leaving you in awe with an element of beautiful surprise! Don’t mistake it for mere co-incidence! His surprises have been well planned to break through at just the right time in your life!

If you don’t know Him, He’s in the business of changing lives and my friend; your transformed life is that beautiful break that you search for. Go with the shepherds, in your heart, and seek for Him. When you find Him, embrace Him and find forgiveness for your sin that will set you free.

John 8: 36 “ If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”

John 8: 12 “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

Romans 8: 12 “Because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life se me free from the law of sin and death.

Romans 8: 35 – 39
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Psalm 103: 11
“For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;”

Healing For The World

 Advent

Advent

The world is in a dark state now with fear and apprehension hanging on much like a fog relentless to lift. We can’t believe the stuff happening around us and we’re quick to talk of the evil and how rampant it’s becoming in our world.

Remember the world has always been in a sinful state! Evil has always been rampant. Christ was born into this wretchedness where a ruthless and jealous King Herod ordered all baby boys to their death to stamp out the threat of the new “baby” boy child, the King; Jealousy kills, doesn’t it? The Christ Child posed a threat to an evil King controlled by jealousy.

Yeah, you and I, we’re sinful creatures by nature. Born into sin..Those that do not have a saving knowledge of the Lord as their Savior are controlled by their sinful natures where darkness rules! When darkness rules, others are affected and innocent ones suffer the consequences. Let’s remember, We are not an island..What “we” do affects others..It’s not just the shooter or the one that plays out the bombing that’s at fault here in this tumultuous world of ours, but it’s ‘us’ as well….in the choices we make and the things we do and in the behaviors and actions that we take on.

Enter the majestic Star of Bethlehem, the Christ child who was born as the Light Of the World! Born to bring the light of hope and glory into evil. He’s the Savior and the only one that can make a difference in your heart or mine…So…even in the darkness, His love shines the light of Hope into our bleakness and into our dark days and although the sadness doesn’t leave and the mourning doesn’t stop…the joy comes in the morning and it comes to our hearts and it comes to our homes when we know Him and His saving grace in a personal way!! He sees us through the difficult times as sketchy as they are.

DSC_4627.jpg final
Although God doesn’t order or cause the hideous world events, the enemy of sin always carries it’s natural consequences!consequences that can be harsh and brutal, because sin destroys!! These terrible happenings, should be our wake up call and get our attention long enough to shake us from the sleepy slumber of passive complacency…and our “Who cares? I’ll live like I want attitude”…

Beautiful soul, Instead of asking, “Why does God allow such terrible happenings?” Let’s rather ask ourselves, “What will it take to give us a desire for personal change and wake ‘us’ up and move us out into a needy world as mighty warriors for the King of Kings leaving behind our selfish ways?

It’s just something to think about at this reflective, Advent season.
And so we ask it one more time, “What will it take?” ~k

Matthew 5: 14, 16
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

When You Aren’t Enough

Little Thoughts For Big Days
Little Thoughts For Big Days

So when what you have isn’t enough, God’s grace is. It will cover all we don’t have, and all we can’t do. It will cover all we don’t have control over, and all that seems out of whack. His favour rests upon us regardless of who we are, where we’ve been or what we’ve done. His love goes beyond the imaginable and unimaginable and reaches into the realms of the impossible to share a love so unconditional, so solid, so transforming and so incomprehensible that we sit in awe and wonder- ment of a God who can care so deeply for our needs. Yeah, even in your failure He’s there ready to lift, heal, restore and win! His mercy, so vast and so beyond where we are, and His thoughts of us so brilliant and astounding, we can never pay it back in any of our human attempts. So don’t try! In obedience, just accept His gift of favour upon your life right here, right now, and find HIs richest and joyful blessing on your beautiful soul in your needy moment of “Not enough.”

2 Corinthians 12: 8,9,10
Concerning this I implored the Lord three times that it might leave me. And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

Daniel 10:19
“Do not be afraid, you who are highly esteemed,” he said. “Peace! Be strong now; be strong.” When he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, “Speak, my lord, since you have given me strength.”
