A New Day Dawns(¸.•´ (¸.•´ .•´ ¸¸.•¨¯`• ♥k

“Teach me how to live O Lord. Lead me along the right path, for my enemies are waiting for me. Do not let me fall into their hands.” Psalm 27: 11

Today is a new day that dawns and It’s a new morning to be thankful for!!

They say a picture is worth a thousand words and this photo does tell a story..

After my son’s car accident on June 7th in the summer of 2012, we were very grateful that he was still alive because when one wraps a car around a tree, all logical reasoning would have had all three young men’s lives snuffed out and killed at impact.   God is good, and He spared their lives in that horrendous wreck. I loved how a news report questioned the women figure that some thought they saw, yet seemed to disappear into oblivion that night without a word!  Truth was, there was not a women involved at the scene of the crash, but I believe firmly with all my heart that what they saw was a heavenly figure and a guardian angel sent divinely by God Himself, to protect those three young men.   Phil, without a seatbelt, remained secure in the driver’s seat while the whole engine came crashing into the car.  He wasn’t thrown and he wasn’t crushed.    He escaped with only a broken ankle, but also with much emotional trauma!    It’s a trauma that will leave scars for a lifetime.   His friend, Wes, suffered severe brain injury in the wreck and hovered between life and death for weeks on end. The endless time seemed like years, and it seemed a time that we hardly dared breath as we dreaded every phone call during those devastating days!!   However, the multitude of prayers from God’s people brought peace to our hearts, that far surpassed all understanding. Looking back, the peace that surrounded us, walking through that horrendous time, was definitely something that can’t be explained.  I’m sure if I could see the big picture in hind sight, it would be one of those times when there was only one set of footprints because God had us covered and carried us gently in His arms.

The Lord  restored life back to Wes, and in just four short months his recovery was remarkable. October 24th was his hospital release date, at which time he went home to continue on to full recovery with rehabilitation!  We thank the Lord for His faithfulness to us and look forward to possibly catching a glimpse of His purpose in all of this as time goes by.   If you see this blog and you are a praying person, I would ask you to put Phil on your daily prayer list for continual prayer support. The road ahead is long and winding and we pray for God’s purpose to be fulfilled in Phil’s life, and that this deep pain will not be wasted.

This photo depicts a trail that we walked with Phil after his ankle had healed sufficiently enough for him to manage! It was a hot day and the sun shone brightly. We were thankful for life itself as we made our way through this dense forest with our son, knowing full well that we had just been thrust into a season of denseness ourselves, where utter real life chaos didn’t make any sense at all.  It was a difficult season to focus on much of anything and we found ourselves walking through it very carefully, step by step!  We still tread carefully over much unknown ground, watching God unfold His miracles along the way.

We can truly relate to David’s words in Psalm 30: 1, where he says, “I will exalt You Lord for you rescued me. You refused to let my enemies triumph over me. You brought me up from the grave O Lord. You kept me from falling into the pit of death.”

Phil still has much road to travel, and much ground to regain as we cross many paths along the way! Through it all, we pray for wise learning and wisdom for life and we are confident of this, “That He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1: 6

If we have life itself, we have a miracle. If we’ve taken a breath this morning it’s a miracle. Let’s enjoy and savor every moment of it while we still can. For me, my camera lets me do just that as I walk around with it in my hand, enjoying the beauty of created things and life itself,.. Have a wonderful and blessed day my sweet friends.

  1. It’s been two years now, and there have been many ups and downs along the way but we are confident that God will fulfil His purpose is Phil’s life and that his pain will not be wasted. Meanwhile keep praying, for James 5:16 reminds us, “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” Prayer moves the hand of God upon a person’s life. Thank you for praying!
